Think Lambert will play Hutton at centre back alongside Clark keeping Lowton at right back, everything points to a comfortable away win but think we will grind out another point.

Hutton at centre half? That's a bold prediction.

Decent in the air I suppose, but I remember Carew skinning him in a Norway v Scotland World Cup match when he was forced to play there after someone got sent off.

Would like to see Lamberk put a little faith in Grealish and go for a 4-2-3-1. We don't need that crappy 3 man midfield which doesn't work. Sit Sanchez and one of the other two deep, play Grealish, Zogbia and Gabby ahead, then Weimann or Bent up top. Go for it, try and show a bit of guile. If we're gonna play Gabby, have him facing the opposition defence and tasked with just running at them all day. None of that dropping off to try and link up play, or playing with his back to goal. He's shit at it.
Get him committing players and winning freekicks.

Play Grealish off the front man, let him drift. He's 19 now. We should have no qualms about putting him in a game like this if he's good enough. If he were 16-17 still I could understand the hesitation. Chuck him in.

Can only see a comfortable Southampton win and perhaps it will end Lambert's reign?

No idea where a potential goal might come from for us.

------------Guzan
Hutton, Okore, Clark, Cissokho
----------Sanchez----------
-----Westwood, Richardson
----------Cleverley
------Gabby, Weimann-------

As much as I am desperate to see Okore playing again, I worry that if we are on the end of a tonking, it will knock him back a bit.
He is very inexperienced at this level, and getting over that horrible injury.
He should be brought back in when he can play with an experienced partner, not thrown in when it's totally inappropriate.

Then again, beggars can't be choosers, I guess

Well with no fit centre halves, not including our enigma Okore, no fit Delph, Benteke banned and the most likely attempt to play TC out of position I'm pretty confident.

Confident we'll lose 2 - 0

A much needed 2-1 win. Peter Broadbent and Lionel Martin in front of a huge crowd.

Little Davy Rudge will tear them apart down the right wing.

We need to be way better going forward as with the makeshift defence we're likely to put out next to no chance of keeping a clean sheet. Although I thought that about West Ham.

2-2.

I reckon Southampton in their present form will come to win and attack us so we will get space and hopefully we can produce a final ball on occasions.

Hopefully the international break will have disrupted Southampton a bit as they probably have more international players away than we did which is a sorry state of affairs.

We will annihilate them 6-1 at least. A Sunderland moment...

I was at that game with my Dad Bob Kirk (sadly no longer with us) 59, 000 inside Villa Park, deafening noise inside the stadium, what a night.

I trust that you'll be a long way from Villa Park then?

Lawro has predicted a 1-0 win for us. The signs are ominous.
