We can't really be laying into Hull players for their treatment of Grealish and then praising Hutton for doing the exact same thing on Sterling.
I think Hutton genuinely went for the ball. He just took everything in it's path too .

It's exactly that lack of judgement that made him such a liability last time out.

Hopefully just a minor aberration. One incident in four games instead of what felt like one very four minutes under McLeish.

I thought something similar last night, also Senderos on Baloteli.  It definitely looked like he'd been sent out with the message to rough him up / try and wind him up.

Obviously on nowhere near the same scale though.

Having slept on it the Hutton challenge was a one off incident and looked more like a hopelessly misjudged tackle, rather than a pre-meditated assault which was what the Grealish treatment looked like in the end.

The Senderos stuff, other than the kick, which was just bloody stupid, it wasn't anything more than the sort of needling / ragging up that's been going on since the game began, just that there was a bit more focus on him (at least on the coverage here) after the kick.

I think there was a bit of a difference. Our players appeared to lose their heads, whereas Hull had a strategy against Grealish.

It may or may not have been on purpose, but I like to think that Sterling was, in fact, intimidated.

And: how bad a person am I for really enjoying Senderos' little go at Super Mario? It was just so shamelessly cheeky.

In general: Over the moon with the result. Really good, clean debut by Cleverley, though nothing spectacular. So far we've a amazing points to goal ratio, and what to say about the defense? The only goal we've conceded we had to score ourselves!

Just watched Rodgers post match interview and he said that they were competing on a budget? Can someone remind me how much they spent in the Summer?

They aren't the same team without Suarez.  See Spurs without Bale last season.

A journo over here compared the two situations during the international break. He wasn't too impressed with the way either club had gone about things.

He called it real life Brewster's Millions

Oh joy! Just had a surprise visit from my Dingle-born redscouse supporting brother-in-law to be.
Decent lad but he was still in shock - my sister (a Villan of course) had been ragging him all last night and my lad met him at the door with laughing and pointing...

Was that even 5 minutes of highlights?
I can't think of a single thing that happened in the match that they should have shown but didn't.

Half of the match was Liverpool's centre-backs passing it back and forth - and that doesn't make great television.

Just Baker's sliding block near the end, I think that merited showing.
listened to the small faces baker song on you tube never heard it before- very good, but greatest ever?

They have a lot more going for them than Song of a Baker.
I know. Hard to look past All or Nothing?

I thought Huttons foul was a "good" one on account that it was a message to Sterling, who at the time looked as if he was threatening to run the show.

A good old fashioned let him know you are here challenge. You want to see a bad challenge, look up Gerrards on Boateng a few years ago.

May as well stick it here as well. I love how we look a team again, and also how much the players enjoy winning.

Great to see.

Does really look like their's a great team spirit at the moment.  My female housemate who couldn't care less about football even mentioned it after seeing them celebrating on MOTD last night.

I genuinely thought it was a good tackle. Got the ball. I'm obviously wrong judging by the reaction but that was my initial feeling. Lallana's was far worse.

Against my better judgement I purchased the Mercury this morning thinking I'd actually enjoy reading the match report for once, what the fuck have they done to our badge? Did anyone else spot this?
