I think we might be supporting Juve in the final

my little fella thinks he's the next Gordon Banks and is having a love in about Buffon at the moment
a very charismatic man I'm finding in our household

he also loved the fact that both Goalies were captains last night, he was very impressed with that

I'm moaning about Juve, but I love Buffon. I'd have him in my Greatest XI team over any other goalkeeper you could offer me.

I juventini at work are going to be full of it tomorrow.

Is this a bad thing fbriai?
Or is it because they are unbearable smug twats like Yanited, Citeh and Chavski are here?

My mate Stefano - lives in Montecatini - is a lifelong Juve fan so I'm quite pleased for him.
However, if a few well-deserved digs are appropriate I will be happy to oblige! ;-)

By way of an anecdote, my lad hasn't really shown any interest in football as yet, but he still came home from a school a couple of months ago singing 'viva juve, viva juve'. I don't think he even knows who or what juve are, to be honest.

I didn't watch the game yesterday evening. I actually fell asleep while I was reading a story to the kids, but we had the windows open as it's starting to warm up now, and I was woken up by the cheering from the other houses when they scored. It wasn't as loud as when Italy score during a World Cup, which is like being in curva (in the stands), but it was loud enough to rouse me from my sleep.

I should add that on top of that, you have all of the calciopoli back-drop, too, which doesn't help.

Was aware of the calciopoli stuff in general but not the detail.

I will remain totally neutral regarding the final then...not dissimilar to your anecdote re: your boy...I taught 5 Spanish lads (11-12 years old) last year, from various parts of Spain, but they were all Barcelona "fans"!


(We took them to one game at VP - against Chelsea - and they became Villa fans for a few days, having seen a great game, a Villa win and were spoilt rotten by the Villa faithful around them in the Lower Holte)

He'd reply that he sometimes watched Arbroath, "But who do you really support?" A passing interest in Dundee United, "But who...?" and so on all the way up to Celtic or Rangers.

Out with a Jock last night and to take this a step further whenever asked who he supports (Rangers by the way) he's always asked, "yeah, but who do you support in the Premier League". I agree wholeheartedly.  I was at both games, and whilst we competed against Juventus, Spartak played us off the park.  I really thought I was watching a future European Powerhouse in the making.  There are times when you walk away having been beaten and think, I can have no complaints about that.  Super team but they just basically sank without trace.

I agree wholeheartedly.  I was at both games, and whilst we competed against Juventus, Spartak played us off the park.  I really thought I was watching a future European Powerhouse in the making.  There are times when you walk away having been beaten and think, I can have no complaints about that.  Super team but they just basically sank without trace.

Too young myself for both games, but I remember Celta Vigo absolutely schooling a very decent Villa side at home.
