The one genuine highlight of the season for me was winning the Qtr final at home, cracking atmosphere before, during and after. The cup has been a relief from the incessant shit served up in the league. Without it I'd have gone mad this time.

In which case, I'd like to admire your blind optimism, but find it too laughable. What's laughable about it?If you have to ask, your blind optimim is equally laughable. You can't honestly think we have any chance whatsoever.Yeah of course we do. We're playing Liverpool, Not Barcelona.Besides, having optimism is better than being a misery arse.

We're playing Liverpool, Not Barcelona.Besides, having optimism is better than being a misery arse.Picked random point to dive into this, but what a bizarre argument over nothing this seems to be.Surely:1. We are a pretty poor, unpredictable team, we've spent the last four years watching football and results not unlike having crushed glass rubbed into your jacksy in the "things to enjoy" stakes.2. Even if Blackburn had beaten liverpool and thus shown themselves to be a better team than expected, almost everyone would have preferred to play Blackburn.3. However, saying "we'll never beat Liverpool" as if it is a feat akin to the likelihood of Burton Albion beating Barcelona is absolute nonsense, given that the last time we beat them was all of six months ago, under the Guardiolan reign of Lambert, at Anfield. A place where we drew last season, and won again the season before that.Yes, Blackburn would have been easier but Liverpool are a side we've taken 7 away points from the last 9 against in the last three seasons - seasons in which we have been every bit as dog shit as we are this season - it strikes me that if you actually tried to prove the opposite to the "we'll never beat team x" argument, you'd struggle to pick a better example than Liverpool. Finally, we've had a succession of easy home draws, if we want to win it, we have to beat someone decent at some point.Strikes me that in yet another season of shed loads of stuff to be miserable about, to start looking for another reason in an FA cup semi final draw is a bit excessive. On the bright side, surely it can't be as horribly depressing as the last one was. I don't think I've ever left a Villa game as down as I was after that one. Not since 1987 anyway.

Do you think they'll let me in Wembley with my 'Gerrard is a C*nt' banner?

Personally, I'd much rather lose in a semi-final or final than in the first round of a competition because of the fun you have winning along the way. But somebody else might say that the annoyance and pain is less in an earlier defeat because the hope and expectation isn't there. He's not saying that he would rather lose in the third round rather than the semi-final (and nor am I), but it's not impossible to see why somebody might.

The chances of this happening are not great.I'm not saying that I'd prefer have have been knocked out, I'm saying that I can understand why, due to the more important relegation battle, some people might have preferred a no-fuss third round exit to a top six club.

We were going to lose them anyway.
I want to see us win games. Winning games breeds confidence after all winning is a habit like losing can become one.Winning 4 games and losing the 5th is better for team and supporter morale than losing another game in January. The Albion cup game was the seasons highlight so far. Without those games whats the point. If we don't believe that then we may as well just pack up and do something else.
Wigan won the cup and went down, who's to say they wouldnt have gone down anyway, its not the champs league or a long run with home and away trips in the Europa league, its a one off cup match normaly played on a weekend, if you keep winning them all it can do is create confidence, there is no downside for me
