A few on the radio earlier backing Rodgers stance on Sturridge by saying they don't care about England they care about Liverpool. They forget that Sturridge probably cares very much about England and has a choice on the club he plays for! Wasn't there a rule at some point that if you missed the internationals through injury you could not play in the following fixture for your club.?If clubs dictate who can and cannot play internationally the whole thing falls apart quickly.

He's their player and they're paying him. Besides, he's been out for five weeks. Surely he should be fit and playing for them before he get's called up for England.

I agree, providing he doesn't play 90 minutes at the weekend. I think Hodgson bowing to a club manager sets a dangerous precedent if he is actually fit to play against Albion.
We should have signed Clyne years back. Good player. So is Gibbs though. Both better than Baines in my opinion who has to be the most over-rated player in history! But are they not all left backs?
