It's taken til he's 38, but I'm finally seeing the virtues of Totti. I don't watch any Serie A though, to be fair.

He's been generally excellent with a few dips in form. It's crazy that he is now playing alongside players that were not born when he made his debut with Roma. This is a good article

“Balbo used to like to come to you, [Marco] Delvecchio went directly at goal, while [Gabriel] Batistuta wanted the ball put on him because he was physically strong,” he once recalled. “With [Vincenzo] Montella you could have a quick one-two. Every player had their characteristics and in that period I saw all their movements while playing behind them. That’s how I learned to be a true attacker.”

I wonder if Totti still keeps in touch with his big mate, Emile?

Anyone amazed City don't seem to sell out for CL games?

I went to Man. City Chelsea last season in the FA cup and as such get regular texts now with them advertising tickets. Got one for the Roma game (which went to general sale) and pretty much all their premier league games pop up on general sale bar the obvious ones like the Manchester derby.

They're extending Eastlands to 60k but I dunno maybe they've reached a peak in terms of support.

I was talking to a Citeh season ticket holder last night who explained this. The club has a Champions League ticket scheme where you have to commit to buying a ticket for every qualifying and group game to be able to get tickets for the knockout stages. He couldn't go last night and his seat was empty.

Given Citeh's performances in the CL why bother?

Always liked Totti. World class on his day. I've always been a fan of players like him, Bergkamp etc. They just look very classy when they're playing football.

SSN are showing every goal as it goes in for all CL & FL matches bar AFC & LFC, which you get by flicking channels when Charlie or Thommo shriek. Not much point watching one match then. Is this the future?

That brilliant Grant Holt fella has helped Huddersfield, with their newish manager, to go 2 up away at Moulineux.

No-one watching CL games?  That would be a nice start from a returning the game to some level of financial sanity point of view.

Oh how I love how Liverpool have imploded since Stevie Me slipped and handed the title to Citeh.

Their fans a annoying arseholes.  A few on the radio earlier backing Rodgers  stance on Sturridge by saying they don't care about England they care about Liverpool. They forget that Sturridge  probably cares very much about England and has a choice on the club he plays for!

Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote has said he wants to leave the club, and claimed there has been contact from Arsenal.

The 28-year-old has spent four years on Tyneside and there had been suggestions that he would be offered a new contract, but that now appears in doubt.

Tiote told press in his home country: 'I want to leave. I've spent four years with Newcastle. I think I have reached a stage where it's maybe time to look elsewhere for a new challenge.

'I will focus on upcoming games and let's see what happens between now and December.

'It is true there were contacts for me from Arsenal and a club in Russia. I'd prefer to stay in England.'

Wasn't there a rule at some point that if you missed the internationals through injury you could not play in the following fixture for your club.?
If clubs dictate who can and cannot play internationally the whole thing falls apart quickly.
