I think Moyes will hold out for the spurs job.

I'm not sure about that. Spurs are another club who gives it's manager's players to work with rather than letting them choose their own.

God I hate Yanited . They are now banging on about playing midweek friendlies abroad to boost revenue and backfill for no champions league.

I'd like to backfill them, but not quite how they envisage it!

The exact reason why should never have a winter "break" to enable teams to "rest" players during the worst of the weather.  You know only too well what the clubs would be doing during any enforced downtime.

I recommend both December 17 & April Fools' Day to those wise custodians at Old Trafford.

I nominate Nainggolan for the award of twattiest of twatty haircuts. Good job he's a decent player or he'd just look like a twat

It's taken til he's 38, but I'm finally seeing the virtues of Totti. I don't watch any Serie A though, to be fair.

One of the first examples of why we needed some internet searches blocked in school was during the 2002 World Cup. Some of the boys were doing a project and typed in "Italian Totty"...

The quality of the picture on Sky for the PSG v Barcelona game was abysmal, surely they wouldnt purposely broadcast a poor signal in order to encourage us to upgrade to HD?

Or is that uber cynical?

Anyone amazed City don't seem to sell out for CL games?

I went to Man. City Chelsea last season in the FA cup and as such get regular texts now with them advertising tickets. Got one for the Roma game (which went to general sale) and pretty much all their premier league games pop up on general sale bar the obvious ones like the Manchester derby.

They're extending Eastlands to 60k but I dunno maybe they've reached a peak in terms of support.

Cynical yes.

Unrealistic - no.

Can't believe stuff like that is still broadcast in SD.
Everything other than news channels and old repeats is broadcast in HD here as part of the standard packages.  For the channels that broadcast sport you can't specify SD and the prices didn't go up when the made the shift over about 2 years starting 4 years ago.

I was talking to a Citeh season ticket holder last night who explained this. The club has a Champions League ticket scheme where you have to commit to buying a ticket for every qualifying and group game to be able to get tickets for the knockout stages. He couldn't go last night and his seat was empty.

Why not link season tickets to discounted Champions League tickets?

You buy a season ticket, then you guarantee that seat for a home Champions League tie and at a rate £10.00 cheaper than the sale price.

Club saves on admin costs and probably sells more season tickets (and match day Champions League tickets) as a result.
