Never thought I'd type these words but Holt must play. Yes he's a slow lumbering oaf of a player but at least he knows how to play the frontman role and be a pain to opposition defenders. Christ he's only got to do it for 60-75 mins then we bring on young/fresh/keen Robinson or headless chicken Weimann to run at them.

75 minutes gone means its time to bring on "Mike"

We're terrible but hopefully Hull won't take it too seriously and we can get a draw.

As for the rest it pretty much picks itself I'd love to "experiment" with a Tonev, Helenius, Robinson, Albrighton combo but this isnt the match for it. We need heads down, maximum commitment, 3 points and a collective sigh of relief.

Then Sid can put out a mad formation against city and spuds and have some fun.

Not going to City (too much, too far and a probable cricket score) but would like, for once, to enjoy a day out in London (football related, lets keep it clean) so have got tickets for Spurs.

Also my last home game as an STH so would be nice to have a fond(ish) memory.

UTV

Holt's efforts at Swansea should be his last at AVFC.

Hull will be bang up for this game. They are having a mini pre-season effectively before the final. Don't expect any favours.

Well I've done what I said I wouldn't this season. I've paid money to come to Villa park. First game since Chelsea last season. I know I'm a bad fan and admit it.
But I'm gonna back us til I'm hoarse on Saturday. Come on Villa, take is to a boring nil nil to get us safe.

I hadn't seen that LTA, but was pretty much my thoughts. I'm going because by God do we need 40,000 screaming their heads off for the boys.

Yep.  Not sure how the Crawley fans would feel about it though, as it's the kind of thing we have lambasted other managers for doing!!

Grecian's spelling makes my eyes hurt. No excuses for txt speak on Twitter, he's supposed to be worldly and learned after his stints in Israel and, er, Derby.

We need to play hard and commit to the tackle, because with the cup final so close, their players won't want to risk injury.

We should have a lot more motivation than Hull, they're essentially safe and have a cup final to think of.

Hull have played three at the back in a lot of their games as a way of getting two strikers into the side without losing the midfield. It's a risk with our back four, but I'd play a very wide 4-3-3 as a result and really get at the wing backs because, as we've seen with ourselves, 3-5-2 really creaks when the wing-backs find themselves outnumbered by a winger and an overlapping full-back. For that reason I'd probably play Bacuna at right back as well, and hopefully Holt can bulldoze his way to the end of a cross or two.
