We have a data room.  Awesome.

Damn straight.

In it sits a lonely Commodore PET, 5.25 inch disks scattered all over the floor. A full ashtray un-emptied since 1983.

It's where they store the old player contracts too.  Piles of yellowing paper, curling up at the edges.  Randy's tears smudging the ink on Beye, Habib so that the name is barely legible.  But Randy knows, he can never forget.  And what's that scrunched up in the corner?  It can't be, surely?  It is, it's the Alex Ferguson missive, and it looks like it's had the full Vorderman treatment before being tossed in a fit of rage into the void.

I come back to just asking the question. Who gains from leaking a deal in the middle of due diligence? Neither side. Let alone the legalities of breaking the NDA's and no compete/lock out clauses that are often put in during this phase of a sale. So it does not get leaked.

I reckon if and when we get sold it will come out of the blue to the press and fans, just like most club sales do.

It was leaked by Someone from the lawyers who manage the info on the data room.

It will be managed by some graduate IT geek who thinks he can make a quick buck by revealing details to the media, only not realising no one outside of being a villa fan actually gives a fvck

I picture it more of a virtual boot room where the club's spottiest geeks puff away on woodbines arguing incessantly via their keyboards over the finer points of the game, flaming one another vehemently when someone suggests that N'Zogbia deserves a new contract.

I see it more of a place where all the stuff Doug Ellis was supposed to have cleared out has been dumped.   Old fishing tackle, videos of Ivo Stas, 16mm film of David Ginola on the beach, boxes of bound copies of Josef Venglos's PhD thesis, letters of complaint from dissatisfied customers of Ellerman Travel, several hundred autographed copies of 'Deadly', a plasticene dummy of Ron Saunders with pins sticking in it.

In the same way that an agent benefits from leaking a possible transfer to drive up price (and therefore commission) from new suitors, it would suit Bank of America very nicely if this flushed out a bored, multi-gazzilionaire looking for a new hobby.

The value of Villa would be small transaction compared to what the agent/bank normally deliver.  I'd imagine that the damage to their reputation would be greater than the extra few million commission they would get from an increase in sales price.

Agree and the same goes for Tom Fox as well.  Considering the mess both inherited, keeping us in the division will be an achievement.
