The stuff from the national media about us that annoys me most:

- when they imply that we drove out MON
- when they imply that we drove out Houllier, rather than the congenital heart condition he suffers from putting him in hospital
- when they imply that the main reason we hated McLeish was where he came from, rather than his record of shite football and relegations, not stopping to think that if he was a decent manager, the fact we'd taken him from there would be a POSITIVE, not a negative.
- when they bang on about how we're fickle, without mentioning the immense support Lambert got for a poor return on his first season.
- when they will say stuff which totally ignores the facts - "Lambert has done a good job there", for example, without mentioning the vast array of records for shitness he has broken, like the more home defeats than any season since we were formed.

Promises were made to Randy by someone unmentioned, which upset him. Says Doug.

That surely has got to be MON.

Yes, I promise to reduce the wage bill, to move some players on.

*nothing happens for months and months*

Can I have half a billion pounds to buy Aiden McGeady, please?
I promise not to piss off a few days before the season starts and the turn up a few months later to sue you

'Saggy-arsed old floater'

An ITK over on TBURP has confirmed it was 'twat-faced anal polyp chomper.' Which I think was harsh.

Patience lads...it's happening and will be revealed v v shortly.

Even cowans would be happy. ;)

The second part of your post is rather cryptic LB. Can you expand on that?

The Mark Ogden just said that 'Americans don't spend money', and cited the Liverpool owners - the same owners who spent £55m on Carroll and Suarez in their first transfer window. Totally silly and vulgar generalisation.

this being the nation where sport has salary caps to protect themselves from spending like maniacs. Not only a shit but utterly incorrect statement to have made. Mark Ogden might do well to educate himself a little on sports in the US and the amount of money being handed out, and especially in baseball. Last I checked some tightarse Americans spent $2bn to buy the LA Dodgers. Cheap bastards.

Didn't one of them say MON was better than Ron Saunders, citing O'Neill as building a great team while Saunders inherited one?  Sure I read/heard that somewhere

The 'fickle' thing really gets me because I reckon we've had the patience of a saint in putting up with 4 years of diminishing returns and largely crap football.

Ourselves and Newcastle are the clubs who put up with the most shit in relation to our size and potential, and any time either of us complains about it the national media tell us to know our place, like Ronny Corbett in that sketch.

Thing is talk to many football fans and they are genuinely surprised about Villa fan's dislike of O'Neill and that us finishing 6th 3 years on the bounce, actually isn't anything special for us.

And yet Liverpool fans - known as the most knowledgeable in the game - deserved the title because they have been so patient and supportive. **cough** Roy Hodgson **cough**

Didn't they want Rodgers out after the first six months too?

One of them on 606 wanted him out after they lost to Chelsea the other week.

Stamp that on Tim Lovejoy's smug old boatrace, so when the sumg tosser wakes up it's the first thing he sees.   I assume he has a full length mirror on the ceiling.  He seems the kind.
