I agree with Ads. You don't reveal someone else is buying something, usually - the person buying would do that. You do, however, reveal you're looking to offload something. Which I guess is what Lerner will say. Leading to a sultry summer of sexy sadness.

Have to say, I suspect you are right.

That statement caused everyone to start going into overdrive about how he's going to announce something at the end of the season.

I've a horrible feeling it was just his usual inability to express himself very well rather than any hint of a big reveal.

Without sizeable investment - basically almost an entire squad - we are just marking time until we drop, I'm afraid.

For all the talk about takeovers I can't remember one single reputable news source (and that description doesn't include Admin or whatever he calls himself) hinting at any sort of deal.

The Telegraph ran that big splash two weeks ago saying a deal was in the offing - they mentioned the fact we'd have to stay up. So, they have talked about it. No songs about 'Allo 'Allo, though.

We just haven't recovered since the MON era have we? It feels like we need to have some painful closure so that we can all move on. Like being dumped by a wasteful fiancee. Thought it would last for ever but once the going got tough she fecks off and you realise you're now broke becauyse the mad cow was spending cash on rubbish like Clark's shoes and nearly new dresses that a few people had manhandled of the rails. Then she just left them in the wardrobe. Ever since then it's been bad girlfriend decision after another. One was classic looking but was still hankering after her ex. One was boring but because you nicked from someone you didn't like you hoped it'd work out. The most recent one you just wanted it to work because you fancied her when she was elsewhere. It's been great at times but when it's been bad it's been dreadful. Time for that chat I think.

Given the bad girlfriend (analogy) decisions what next? A Lolita from abroad? A stunning Eastern European? A cheeky young minx? Somebody who has been around the block a few times but knows how to keep you happy?

with so many communication outlets now I just can't see how you could keep a deal like this on the QT. Someone, somewhere would find something out if something was happening and pass it on. My brother in law works internationally as a corporate mergers & acquisitions specialist. He never reveals the parties concerned but on the odd occasion I've asked questions about the deals he's involved with, he'll tell me it's in such and such industry/market. It doesn't take much at times to then join up the dots.
