2 wins in 14 and entering a March from Hell.  He'll still be here in April though.  Get used to it and vote with your feet.

This really is a dreadful era to be a Villa fan. It's easily the worst squad of players since '87. The worst part about it is that there doesn't seem to be any sign of it changing.

Agreed.  I've got two young boys; 5 and 3.  How am I supposed to get them excited about this shower?

Mine are 7 and 5, we live outside the West Midlands so they are the only Villa fans in their school - they actually get laughed at. Mostly Brighton and Chelsea round here. Other than " my Dad supports them" why would anyone outside the catchment area support the Villa?

At least they will feel like those of us who were going in the late 60s. It makes any future glory taste even sweeter.

I can't think of many reasons not to sack him.

Except that he's doing what the owner wants. Running a 'Premiership' club on a league 1 budget and pretending no-one has noticed. He's going nowhere any time soon, but I am and it won't be to Villa Park.

And anyone in the catchment!?  I live in hope this nightmare will end in 12 months when the eldest will be old enough to care.

We're so shit to watch even I as a Villa fan am struggling to want us to stay in the top flight. I look at the bench and see Grant Holt as one of the options to bring on to beat a shit struggling newcastle side and can do nothing except stare in bewilderment as to how we've come to this.

And all we have to guide us out of this is a mumbling tactically clueless manager, a corporate bullshitter and an absentee owner who seemingly has no idea what to do except carry on stagnating. Awesome. I don't remember ever being this depressed about Villa.

Spot on, very worrying.

Bang on how I feel too.

Just contrasting the levels of performance, Guzan, Vlaar Baker Delph and Westwood all had really good games. Bertrand was Ok.

The rest were just varying grades of awful.

We did okay first half but need to score when we are in the ascendancy.  It never really looked likely.  Benteke seems afraid to shoot or take anyone on these days, he needs to buy a ticket to win the prize.  Westwood and KEA did well first half but our midfield seemed to disappear after the break and we pretty much got what we deserved, albeit agonisingly close to a point.  But we should be winning against teams as poor as Cardiff and Newcastle, the fact we can't even score against them speaks volumes.

Lerner and Faulkner may well have done the impossible and unearthed a worse manager than McLeish. The scary thing is who they might come up with next, but with their combined football knowledge, it wouldn't surprise me to see the likes of Gary Megson, Bryan robson and Brian Laws on their shortlist.

Please don't let it be true.
