On the subject of Albrighton. Since he's come back he's been consistently one of our better players when he's played, whether coming on for 10 minutes or in rare starts. After last week he deserved to start. Lambert praised him as he has anytime Albrighton has come on and injected some sort of urgency and end product.
But he never gives the boy a run in the side. Certain players can play over and over again, guffing out mediocrity. Again though it boils down to nothing more than Lamberts narrow minded view on how we should play, and when I say narrow, I mean narrow. Since day one he said he didn't like wingers. He's stayed true to it. He acknowledges that Albrighton comes on and makes a difference. That Albrighton is a good player. Still, though, he can't fit a winger into his sides. This makes the Tonev signing even more bewildering.

Lamberts decision making is consistently fucking atrocious.
Yep, he has been our best player when played, If I was him I would be looking to get out, there are better teams than Villa that would find a use for Albrighton.

When we last got relegated we sang "down with the Villa, we're going down with the Villa" and we meant it and I sang it and was proud of the Villa fans in those days.   Do today's players deserve that level of heroic support?   Never in a million years.   I would sooner have root canal work at the dentist than watch KEA.

Is it me or do the media seem to be exclusively talking about how much Newcastle needed to win this match and ignoring how much it would cost Villa to lose it?

Back in the day when I woke up on the day of a Villa game the day became somehow special.   Win lose or draw the game would be the highlight of the day.   This morning, just like it has been for the last four years the knowledge when I woke up that I had to endure more pain of the kind that game has just inflicted on us makes Villa match days horrible and dreadful days.

I just want something, anything about the Villa to lift my spirits yet the whole club from top to bottom from owner to board to manager to managers staff to players - all the lot of them - seem totally unwilling to light the smallest spark to lighten the gloom.

They are squeezing the very last drop of my love of football and my love of the Villa out of me with days like today.

If I sprayed this sentiment on the eyeballs of anybody at Villa Park it would be dismissed as the moaning of a miserable old git.   Give him a flag to shut him up.

Brian that post sums up how I feel as well, I was invited round to my brother in laws to watch the game, I didnt want to go which says it all but went as he lives on his own and didnt want to turn him down, I then sat through the match waiting for the inevitable to happen, match days hold nothing for me but fear of more misery, I love the Villa but the last few years have been very draining and yet again we will be very close to the drop, sigh.

This is the worst squad of players I have seen at Villa.  Vlaar and Benteke apart, Gabby because he's one of us, the rest of them, I would allow to leave the club in a heart beat.  Lambert has bought championship level players with the money he has spent.  Strangely enough, that's where he might take us!!

I noticed that as well. To be fair to them Newcastle are far more interesting to talk about these days.

We're so shit to watch even I as a Villa fan am struggling to want us to stay in the top flight. I look at the bench and see Grant Holt as one of the options to bring on to beat a shit struggling newcastle side and can do nothing except stare in bewilderment as to how we've come to this.

And all we have to guide us out of this is a mumbling tactically clueless manager, a corporate bullshitter and an absentee owner who seemingly has no idea what to do except carry on stagnating. Awesome. I don't remember ever being this depressed about Villa.

Westwood was utter shit today.  What the hell has happened to him? Sylla was no better either.  Why the hell did Lambert spend silly money on Kozak when we were desperate for a proper midfielder?  He now reaps what he sows.

Westwood was our best player today in my opinion, and he won the man of the match award on sky even though he only played an hour or so.

When the time comes for season ticket renewals; irrespective of what happens over the next 3 months; I suspect the message from supporters will come loud and clear.
