Anyone going to continue to defend our idiot of a manager?
No. Not anymore. He has had long enough to sort things out. He is out of his depth and just winging it every press conference.
The excuses are just pathetic, the football is even more pathetic and the whole setup is just wrong.
Who would replace Lambert ? I am fucked if i know, but our club needs grabbing by the bollocks and sorting out, quickly, very quickly.
Been at work all day. Fin Feds Dad kept me up to date with the score and his text message said it all to me, enough is enough now.
This is not Aston Villa, it is a shadow of a once great club.
I am fucking disgusted with the way we are going.
I have backed Lambert since he came to us in the vain hope that improvement may be around the corner. Fuck me i was wrong.
This is dreadfull, Olearyesq dreadfull.
I am fucking pissed off.

When the time comes for season ticket renewals; irrespective of what happens owner the next 3 months; I suspect the message from supporters will come loud and clear.

The damage may already be done by then.

Westwood was utter shit today.  What the hell has happened to him? Sylla was no better either.  Why the hell did Lambert spend silly money on Kozak when we were desperate for a proper midfielder?  He now reaps what he sows.

Westwood was our best player today in my opinion, and he won the man of the match award on sky even though he only played an hour or so.

Really sorry, I meant to write El Alhmadi/Sylla, not Westwood. Must stop drinking at lunchtime.

We had a very clear message from the General when they arrived that the most important thing to get right was on the pitch. This is why, whatever horseshit comes out, he wants to sell up.

Please do.

Which is why, however you want to view O'neill - he left

We're so shit to watch even I as a Villa fan am struggling to want us to stay in the top flight. I look at the bench and see Grant Holt as one of the options to bring on to beat a shit struggling newcastle side and can do nothing except stare in bewilderment as to how we've come to this.

And all we have to guide us out of this is a mumbling tactically clueless manager, a corporate bullshitter and an absentee owner who seemingly has no idea what to do except carry on stagnating. Awesome. I don't remember ever being this depressed about Villa.

Spot on, very worrying.

Is it me or do the media seem to be exclusively talking about how much Newcastle needed to win this match and ignoring how much it would cost Villa to lose it?

Thought that as well

Especially ex Sunderland Quinn.

Whether newcastle won or not, makes little difference to their season. For us though, every match is massive which is completely lost on the media, most of the time

Why is it the fans can see the problems at the club but the pig-headed Chairman, Chief Executive and Lambert can't? Crying out for a creative midfielder for 18 months and yet Lambert spends £6.5 M on another striker. Lambert should've gone after the Sheffield United cup defeat.

You are in the minority re Westwood. Best player on the pitch together with Baker

He should have been sacked after the 8-0 humiliation at Chelsea. Yet he was allowed to stay and fester at our club. He truly has been a horrible Aston Villa manager.

He could have been sacked about three times over since he's been with us.

It's absolutely farcical that he is still in a job. It also spells out to us and the rest of the league that we are a club with no ambition whatsoever.

I can't think of many reasons not to sack him.
