I just checked, this final is REALLY boring, and 12 of the last 15 sides relegated changed manager during the season.

And how many clubs that finished in 11-17 changed their managers too.

The simple fact that clubs are near the bottom makes it much more likely they'll change managers so that stat doesn't really prove anything.  Looking at it the other way, how many times have Chelsea and Man City changed their managers over the past few years?  And then compare and contrast their trophy cabinets with Arsenal's....

It's more a point about how every time someone gets a new a manager it's bad for us as they will shoot up the table. When the reality is a shit side remains a shit side and gets relegated.

But you can't dismiss the effect of the manager like that.  Take Palace as an example - their players were shit before Pulis arrived last year and look what happened with a bit of organisation.

Then he left, the team became shit again and then since Pardew's come in and brought the organisation back they're moving up the table.

They're a classic example of how a good manager can make a team better than the sum of its parts.  Lambert on the other hand seems to be making our team worse than the sum of its parts.

Believe me, I'm not one for changing the manager for the sake of it when things are going wrong but when it's so obvious these players are capable of so much more than they're delivering I think sticking with the one obvious factor holding them back is sheer madness.

I know I can, I just did ;)

Of course every now and again it works, but most of the time it doesn't as they get relegated anyway.

I should add that I want Lambert gone, but am debating the general "changing manager = automatically better" as most of the time it isn't.

Getting rid of a manager is the easy bit, finding a better one is where it gets more difficult. We do not have anyone connected with the club who has had any success in that area.

Which is fine, but I wasn't making that point!  ;)

and  while finding a good replacement is difficult, it shouldn't paralyze you from doing so, even when your past efforts have been poor

Re changing manager.

If the squad is under performing (e.g. us, Sunderland under PDC) it's probably worth the risk, the potential upside of the change is far greater than the downside compared to keeping the incumbent.

If the squad is off such poor quality it makes no difference (Leicester, Burnley, us in Lambert's first season) then the potential downside is greater - at least as long as the players look like they're giving their all and reaching their potential, or at least showing signs of improvement.

If the squad is just largely made up of mercenaries and those looking to top up the pension fund (QPR) you were stuffed from the start and Moanrinho or Guardiola won't keep you up as they're just not interested.

I'd guess that most of those 12 out of 15 were in category 2 or 3.

Guzan in goal.

Valar - Okare - Clark - Baker

Gil - Sanchez - Delph - Grealish

Wiemann - Benteke

4 solid defenders, two hard working midfield players who can tackle. Two flair players to take the game to the opposition a class centre forward with width to supply him and a natural goalscorer in Andi. Front two NEVER allowed into their own half expect to stay onside. = CHANGE THE MANAGER !!!!!

Hutton & Cissoko - there to defend and supply width - an absolute joke.

Aunty's flat refusing to report it which is a little odd. You'd have thought that even if they had doubts they'd report that Sky have announced it.

The Leicester supporters must be delighted.
