All the stats available tell us that we are getting worse. Walk on the precipice long enough, eventually you will fall in.

Guzan in goal.

Valar - Okare - Clark - Baker

Gil - Sanchez - Delph - Grealish

Wiemann - Benteke

4 solid defenders, two hard working midfield players who can tackle. Two flair players to take the game to the opposition a class centre forward with width to supply him and a natural goalscorer in Andi. Front two NEVER allowed into their own half expect to stay onside. = CHANGE THE MANAGER !!!!!

Hutton & Cissoko - there to defend and supply width - an absolute joke.

I wouldn't mind seeing Melkor steaming down the right wing, striking fear into the heart of the Leicester full back. Even more intimidating than Hutton!

So, Lambert thinks Cleverly gets in on merit? He is sooo removed from the fans it's unbelievable. Very limited player, even more limited Manager.

So according to Mr Lambert, Cleverley is "trying too hard"

You couldn't make it up.

I've yet to see Cleverly put his foot in a tackle. Jump out of one? Every game.

With this deliberate flying in the face of the facts as witnessed by the fans eg Cleverley is trying too hard, you could be excused for thinking that Lambert is deliberately trying to antagonize the fans and thereby get himself sacked and compensated.   I would not mind betting that Lambert has spoken to Martin O'Neill.

Forest owner on manager sacking :

"Stuart Pearce is a legend in Nottingham. I don't blame the fans for being upset when he left," said Al Hasawi. "But this decision had to be made because it is a business issue.

"We are talking about 24 games and we won only three"

Interesting article from tech-mag Wired last year, on data analytics in football. I doubt whether the Teflon Twit has grappled with this. Why? I just do.

I still play Football Manager because I'm 12 in a 29 year old's body. Anyway, on the game Paul Lambert has just been sacked after losing to Hull.

Gerry Francis took over.

He is right and Lambert's record is just as poor. Also as soon as they sack Pearce they go an win the next game..

Randy needs to wake up , there is a new TV deal set to be announced which is likely to bring more money to prem league clubs and therefore further elevate the gap between the Prem League and Championship. If we go down it will be a very long road back and he can forget about getting a buyer willing to put up 150-200 mil to buy the club.

I see that includes one of the stats I've always used that 9shots = 1goal, that's 1 I found when I was at Uni doing data analysis and it's remarkably consistent.  Most of what they're saying lines up well with my thoughts on stats for football but it's hard to share them on a site like this because it's very dry for people who aren't interested.  It's stuff like this which makes me so annoyed when Lambert kept saying he didn't do stats.  That's him basically saying I don't need evidence to show what I'm doing wrong because I'm not going to change it anyway because despite everything I think what I'm doing is right.
