I think ultimately the last record that Lambert sets will be to become the manager everybody refers to when a club is undecided about keeping or getting rid of a failing manager.   The perceived standard wisdom will be "You may well think we are being a bit hasty but look what happened to Aston Villa when they would not get rid of Paul Lambert."

Honestly, if he can stay in his job after that - and he will - then I'm afraid Lerner and Fox have absolutely no pride.

They don't have any pride in the club. They're both money men who are trying to maximise the amount of cash fuckwit Lerner can get when he sells up now.

Do they both really think we are so naïve and thick that we believe they're enjoying the football they are seeing? Pull the other one, it's shit and you are only interested in this exit strategy you have going. There is no pride to be had in the rubbish we are churning out and anyone running the show that cared would have given this pillock the boot last season as a sign the long ball, no possession, no goals thing is not acceptable for this club.

I voted to keep him. Things are obviously awful but I think he's doing the job he's been asked to do. Lerner will be asking a new guy to do exactly the same thing so what's the point changing it? I know there's a chance that things could get a bit better, but they could also get worse. We're set up to bore along largely where we are.

So he's being asked to score no goals, win no games and spark falling attendances?

If you think we are going to bore along where we currently are as well you're in for a big shock, because these years of neglect are rapidly catching up with us now and there is a huge chance we will be relegated.

The lack of a decent assistant is the most baffling thing.

Lack of decent coaches.
Lack of a decent scouting system.
Lack of a decent manager.

It has been announced Forest will offer Stuart Pearce an alternative roll. So how about 'Alternative Rolls For Paul Lambert'?

The only roll i'd give Lambert is a sausage one. Don't want him anywhere near my club.

I just can't understand why we have no assistant manager/ first team coach in place.  What is the deal here?  Now, while  I don't agree with some of the folk who are crying out for Peter Withe to be made manager, I can see no harm at all with bringing him in on a short term contract to coach the forwards.  Bring Gary Shaw in, too,  it'll give everyone a lift.

There is no better time to sack Lambo, we have no assistant manager, we are also not expected to get anything from Chelsea. We need to re-group before the six games after Chelsea, but if we fail to do so we are certainly going to be relegated. It's clear Lambo has lost the players "how many times have you seen any player throw everything in to block a shot etc, over the past few months". They have just all lost discipline.
Fox - Randy grow some balls and do the required !!!!

How about "roll off a cliff"?

A paucity of technical and motivational capability has been apparent for a long time. The seeming absence of effective coaching is also evident.
He has to go, and now. As a previous poster said, enough is enough.

In my near-50 years of watching Villa, this is rapidly approaching the worst period for being a fan.
