Agreed.  O'Leary was desperately keen on himself and seemingly had nothing but scorn for everyone else.  I think Lambert is a decent bloke who's out of his depth.

And mine. I have been more supportive than most and still feel a lot of the anger ought be redirected to RL (who as guardian has truly fucked it all up and put the shackles on).

But lose on Sunday and he has to go irrespective arguments - I just can't see him surviving another humiliation like that

We used to hear plenty of piss and wind about Randy 'getting' the club, but if he did, he would have potted Lambert after his comments prior to the Sheff United game last season, nevermind the result itself.

They were both singing from the same hymnsheet, the FA Cup is an irrelevance to them. Stay in the league and count the beans, like the unambitious small-fry they are.

There are Villa fans of a certain vintage that would sooner see the club win the cup than the league - not that that is a choice we're going to be faced with anytime soon.

I dunno. A lot of us suspect it and I'm sure he suspects himself, that he's not good enough for the job. But he won't walk away and risk losing a nice big pay off will he?. He appears to be a bit of a chancer, trousering not too shabby wages even though he has apparently, no clue how to turn our fortunes around, take us forward or even pick a football team that can score a goal. It must have been the biggest shock of his life when the clowns in the boardroom handed him a new contract.

I think it has gone beyond suspecting he is not good enough for the job. I think we have enough evidence to take it to the Crown Prosecution Service.

It's nice to read other people's opinions when they are so very close to your own. The only difference with my view is that I think we have already hit the he's got to go point no matter what Sunday's result.

You really think so? - Losing to the club that is flying at the top of the C'ship won't be a sackable IMO; particularly since he survived Orient and Sheffield Utd, who are less worthy opposition than Bournemouth.

He also survived Millwall and Bradford City so there is no way he will be sacked if Bournemouth beat us, but if he followed it up with big defeats against Arsenal and Chelsea with us hitting the bottom 3 there may be a chance but somehow I still doubt it.

This week if we lose tomorrow it won't even get a mention in the press on the back of Bradford, Middlesborugh, and Cambridge. A loss tomorrow will be boos but only localised ridicule and anguish from Villa fans. he escapes for yet another week.

The FA Cup doesn't matter to Randy at all. Oddly it seems to matter to Lambert way more than Lerner, or me to be honest. He keeps on playing very strong teams for cup games. I would sooner he rotated the kids in. Freshen things up and rest for first choice players. We should be more than capable of beating Championship or lower league opposition with our second string.

Well you would expect it to matter more to a football manager and someone who has grown up with the game than an owner who hasn't.  But i don't really think Lambert gives two tosses about it either.
