Lambert is in no way comparable to the utterly twattish O'Leary on the wanker scale.
Agreed.  O'Leary was desperately keen on himself and seemingly had nothing but scorn for everyone else.  I think Lambert is a decent bloke who's out of his depth.

I bet I'm not the only Villa fan recieving unmerciful stick at work about just how bad we are at the moment. Our record and stats over the last few seasons are genuinely embarrassing, and our lack of goals this season is quite humiliating. What Lerner and Lambert are doing to this club is unforgivable in my opinion. I cringe every time I see our woes played out in the media. Bloody Robbie Savage is at it again today.
The sooner this nightmare is over the better.
Things can't get any worse than reading an article by Savage and thinking that he is absolutely right. I need a shower after saying that.

That's my take on it aswell.

O leary was despised in the end, I dont despise Lambert I have just had enough of the worst evers under his leadership and the fact its looking increasingly likely that we will be relegated with him at the helm and he has made us a figure of fun for the media and supporters of other clubs.

Exactly what I thought this morning but haven't been brave enough to admit it!

He's not a decent bloke if he's fu**ing up my beautiful football club, can see it, and is doing little or nothing about it.

Hear hear.
If he was decent, he'd do the decent thing and walk.
He is a self serving, deluded, chancer who is dragging the club down the pisser.

I just read that Sherwood is bookies favourite if Lambert does walk. Hardly a case of better the devil you know, but I doubt when Lambert does eventually go the clouds will part and the sun will shine down on Villa Park, whoever the new boss is.

Also, why would Lambert go if his employers have given him a brand spanking new contract?

And mine. I have been more supportive than most and still feel a lot of the anger ought be redirected to RL (who as guardian has truly fucked it all up and put the shackles on).

But lose on Sunday and he has to go irrespective arguments - I just can't see him surviving another humiliation like that

You really think so? - Losing to the club that is flying at the top of the C'ship won't be a sackable IMO; particularly since he survived Orient and Sheffield Utd, who are less worthy opposition than Bournemouth.

I agree. Unfortunately I think O'Leary was a better manager (and I didn't think he was great). Reminds me of what Jack Charlton said to BFR about Bobby. "He was a better player but I'm a better bloke".

There was an article in H&V, must have been about 12-13 years ago, that described Bobby Charlton as a "...miserable old ticket tout", or words to that effect. Still makes me laugh now.

I dunno. A lot of us suspect it and I'm sure he suspects himself, that he's not good enough for the job. But he won't walk away and risk losing a nice big pay off will he?. He appears to be a bit of a chancer, trousering not too shabby wages even though he has apparently, no clue how to turn our fortunes around, take us forward or even pick a football team that can score a goal. It must have been the biggest shock of his life when the clowns in the boardroom handed him a new contract.
