You have to spend ages on death row. Right now we haven't even got any pen pals let alone marriage proposals.

Quinn is unfortunately, shamefully right I'm afraid.

Why would Lerner go throught the cost and hassle of replacing him?

We won't go down. Not this season. Yes, it will be tighter than it should be. Same as the last three seasons. Four actually. And yes, one day we'll have played Russian Roulette too long and we'll suffer the consequences. But, logically and hand on heart I can't see it being this season.

Teams below winning yesterday was just something that happens EVERY season. A mini revival. We're In a dog fight with 8 teams. Changing managers won't work for all those that have - same as it didn't work for Fulham last year.

Grit your teeth and bear it until the summer. Hen absolutely it has to go. But go for the right man, not just a mid-season knee jerk get the "available not the best man" in approach.

I wouldn't be so blase.  We're 3 points clear of relegation and will pick up zero points from the next 3 matches.  I can see us being in the relegation spots by mid-Feb.

I don't think it's blase. I do think that the spoiled little brat can't be bothered with the hassle of replacing Lambert when by his reckoning we will survive and survival is all he wants. Lerner has new set of helicopters that he got for Christmas to play with in any case.

Looking at all the teams around us, I think this is the season we will go down, along with Hull and Sunderland. Very sad state of affairs that Lambert is still in the job. As many have said he looks lost for what to do or say. The fans have turned and next Saturday might be the final nail in his coffin. Liverpool always beat us at home and I am expecting it to get very ugly. Laudrup would be the best available with Prem experience. UTV

Like Luna, Cissokho started the season well, but also like Luna, it turns out this was an abberration.

There's a worrying habbit though that players seem to be better when they first sign and then degenerate in to a mess. Smells like motivation and coaching to me.

And elsewhere in the great country of USA a servant goes to the crypt of our owner, he opens the box saying master master those people in the Villa at Aston are making noises. That's a good thing surely says Randolph. No master they are coming out of the trance we put them in, they see through our master plan and are calling for the head of our manager. Still groggy from his long sleep Randolph says throw some money at Martin. But master he walked out on us after spending your inheritance. Throw me the picture book says Randolph. Looking at the second photo, are Gerrard get him on the phone. The slave shakes his head, he has gone too master don't you remember paying him off. Randolph turns the page and sees TSM "Tell me I didn't". You did master. Right sack him. But master he has gone he took your money too. He turns to the next page. "Ah I remember now the young and hungry chappy surely those young and hungry players have all blossomed by now".No master they have all been thrown to the four corners of the realm. What about the bomb squad? surely they have all been dispatched. No master Shay was made 1st team coach last year after Paul's henchmen left. Bent? He has gone now master but we are still paying his wages. Hutton surely hes gone? No master you gave him a new 4 year contract. This is bad get me the General we need to rally the troops. Master he went into his bunker years ago and has never been seen. Right surely we can pay Paul off surely his contract is up soon. No master alas we gave him another 4 years. Lets give them more scarves that will keep them quiet it did the first 4 years. That my friends is the comedy of Aston Villa.

Ryan Bertrand too, looks great at Southampton, Lambore managed to make him look very very average

Micky Quinn on Talksports says Lambert is doing his job by keeping us in the top flight and that things wont change until he is given more money. Cant believe the bullshit that man spouts.
Yes Micky Quinn the great mind  of  our  times!

The thickest, fattest moron in football punditry. His show with some equally brainless woman on Talkshite on a Sunday morning really scrapes the bottom of the barrel. And that is saying something, as there is a lot of competition out there

This is how we sacked McLeish.

Read this, and then see how the reasons they gave for binning him after the one season can possibly not be said to apply to Lambert after 2.5 seasons?

How can the man be anywhere near a job with us with his record?

Quote
Aston Villa can confirm that Alex McLeish's contract has been terminated with immediate effect.

The club has been disappointed with this season's results, performances and the general message these have sent to our fans.

The board wishes to assure supporters that we are conscious in every sense that Villa expects and deserves more and we will strive to deliver this.

Villa chairman Randy Lerner said: "We need to be clear and candid with ourselves and with supporters about what we have lacked in recent years.

"Compelling play and results that instil a sense of confidence that Villa is on the right track have been plainly absent.

"The most immediate action that we can take is to look carefully at our options in terms of bringing in a new manager who sees the club's potential and embraces our collective expectations."

Chief Executive Paul Faulkner said: "We'd like to thank Alex for his hard work and efforts throughout this tough season.

"We are mindful of the club's need to prepare thoroughly for the new campaign and for the new manager to be able to begin working with the board so that he is quickly immersed in these preparations and also in the long-term objectives of the club.

"Our focus now will be driven by these imperatives and we will update when appropriate."

There's two very big differences between then and now though. The club is for sale and he no longer cares.

When does he get the vote of confidence ? That's a sure sign he's about to be fired

We are the only club that means it when we give a manager a vote of confidence.

You aint seen nothing fatter than the mighty Quinn.

Can't stand the fat fucker, no nothing gobshite. Talkbollocks must require all presenters to have been lobotomised before being considered. I love that Alan Brazil is still broken hearted enough about 80/81 to hate us now.

Of course that's true, but I haven't got an issue with him on this. It's clear to me Lambert's only remit is to keep us in the PL on a tight budget while Lerner tries to sell, and as horrible as it is that's what he's doing.
I want rid of Lambert as much as the next fan, but let's not forget who the real villain of the piece is - it's Randy Lerner.
