Wishful thinking but perhaps they aren't letting him bring a nr 2 in as they are lining up a new manager ?

That did occur to me, as well.

See also, Lambert's sitting on his arse in recent matches. He looks beaten. Perhaps he is starting to feel he is.

That's a very good point. Maybe just maybe...

That's exactly how Mcleish was in his last few games. Sat rooted to his seat seemingly afraid to move . Kevin Macdonald was doing the standing up occasionally.
Lambert really needs to go .

Lambert doesn't even have a Kevin Mac to do his standing up for him.

Although plenty of them seemed happy to spring to their feet when that ruck broke out with the Leicester people on the final whistle. Lambert and Pearson looked like the only two not swinging handbags around. Lowton seemed to be getting stuck right in.

Ps you're right, it is exactly how McLeish was, too.

Incidentally, Brian Doogan said he was going to Everton about a month or two ago. Have we replaced him yet?

I thought that from his post-match interview on the BBC.  He sounded thoroughly sick of it all.  Well guess what Paul, so are we.

There's a piece on the mail website about how he's saying he won't walk away etc etc. That's the sort of thing you always hear just prior to a manager getting the tin tack.

Shit. Getting my hopes up pointlessly. He's going nowhere.

I wanted PL to succeed, as did we all. He hasn't. Move on, Randy.

When does he get the vote of confidence ? That's a sure sign he's about to be fired

I don't think he's gone yet has he ? Maybe he won't be replaced ? Cost cutting ?

Noticed that at Blackpool. Hiding himself away in the new dugout.  Maybe he wants the sack to cash in on 3.5 yr contract and move on to another job. Seemed totally unfazed  in the post match con

I've said before that he looks like the job is beating him and he's a different person to the one that first took the job. I'm pretty sure I said it to Legion as far as back as the open training day. His body language isn't right.

Four year contract. He's staying.

Indeed. A 4 year contract negotiatied with terms and I would think certain obligations are in place. For instance the position of Aston villa within regards to being in relegation zone and at certain periods of time within season. Included a full and frank review at end of season and review of terms
.A contract on a salary of 4 year period , with provisions, is there to encourage stability. I would imagine its considered in best interests of club to have Lambert in under Lerner tenure until say relegation position  levels are being displayed. This would mean in itself if Villa are in the relegation zone within period then major consideration to change in management and structure would occur.
