To me he could have been binned after Sheff Utd debacle which was loss number 3 to a lower league team.

He should have been binned in the summer.

Without a doubt, the summer was time to get rid.

I thought it was a definite at WHL.

So did the then-CEO.

That's a bit of a scoop if true.  Would that be one of the reasons why said ex-CEO isn't here any more?

I don't think it was a direct reason, but every avalanche starts with a single snowflake.

Well, despite the history between them if Lerner would rather see PF leave than PL, then I think it means that Lambert is on 20ft of concrete and we are stuck with him for some considerable time.

Fuck !

My feeling is that Lerner feels he has a duty to Lambert because he has kept us up despite the conditions and restrictions imposed on him.

No other club has had to work in such a tight financial constraint, to such a level where Burnley are spending the equivalent of a club like Aston Villa.

Mr Lambert is aiming to be the first football manager to put together a full season in which the 'goal scored' column makes for legible binary code. Keep up the good work Paul.

101 would be great to see.

Yes because Paul tells his players not to score.

We don't create enough chances during games, that's for sure.

Good stats.  I suppose that shows progress but by the smallest of margins.  However it does not factor in the spurt we had in the second half of his first season.  Unless this happens again it is likely there will have been zero progress in three seasons.

...And we're likely to lose three of our best players in the summer for about $30m so it's not as if these are teething problems and next year we will be ready to move to the next level.

You'd think so, sometimes. And that's coming from someone that generally supports him.

Crikey, talk about mangled logic.

I'm sure he doesn't tell them to finish about 15th and hardly ever win, either, but he doesn't seem able to stop both those things happening.

Yep as far as a flawed defence of a manager goes that is pretty much up there with the most bizarre.

Someone, probably Tom Cleverley again, has leaked some video of Lambert and Benteke having a tactical disagreement in the dressing room:

"Whatever you do, Christian, don't score. And tell the other lads not to score either."
