Remember when we were all convinced last season's final game against Spurs would be Lambert's last game in charge?  Seems strange to think back on that now.

Yes, we were wrong then and we'll be wrong now - whatever the score.
Are you saying he may get the sack then as the vast majority have said that he will keep his job regardless ?

No, quite the opposite. He is so secure that I think he could survive two successive relegations.

Just the two?

I'm coming to the conclusion that he wouldn't get the sack even if he killed a close relative of Mr Lerner.

Only a relative? I reckon PL could bomb a country and he wouldn't even get a verbal warning.

Correct. Schteve was interviewed after Houllier had gone. The fan pressure thing if thought about logically is a load of tosh. Owner listens to fans and doesn't appoint a certain manager. He then appoints one that is going to be significantly less popular.

Like being in a restaurant, looking at the menu, saying "oh no, I don't like the look of that, it has fish in it" then following it up with "I'll have the Captain Birdseye Fishiest Fish Pie, thanks". On a fish shaped plate. On a trawler. Off the cost of Grimsby.

Then returning to the same restaurant a year later, complaining how you've just recovered from food poisoning from the last time you were there. The waiter apologises and you give your order, "Same again".

Then, despite it making you vomit for weeks, going on TripAdvisor and writing a review for the restaurant "The fish pie was amazing."

"In fact it was so good I bought the company".

"And took everything off the menu, except for the fish pie"

"Sadly, due to family commitments, I no longer am able to dine there but I'm told by phone 4 times a week the fish pie is excellent".

"I feel that I can no longer give the restaurant my full attention, so like the Salmonites, I am going to swim with my own. PS I have also just extended the cook's contract"

"Alex Ferguson ate the fish pie once.  When somebody like Alex Ferguson recommends fish pie, you don't then go and order the salmon-en-croute instead."

The mood on the villa sites and social media definitely feels like Monday was the breaking point, even the votes on here were largely calling for him to be given time or outright supportive but now it pretty clear that the majority have had enough.

Monday was my breaking point. Yet again, the same issues.  No movement, no penetration or idea.  Very few players wanting for the ball, and a lack of game plan.  There's too many players in the side that are simply not good enough.  IE Lowton, Clark, Westwood, Weimann, Agbonlahor - and that was just picking on the players that were in the eleven.

To get our Villa back, we're going to need investment, a manager with a proven track record, and a complete shake-up of the first team squad.

things aint brilliant,

But would you want pardew down here, after their victory over citeh last night his safe until christmas,

face it fellas Lerner isnt the sacking kind, look at the Browns, he stalled and stalled.

theres more chance of us going down than Lambert being sacked. imo.

Not particularly, but I don't really see the relevance of Pardew? Are you suggesting winning games isn't necessarily to be wanted, or you'll get stuck with a manager you don't like?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd be firmly behind Lambert (again) if he could start winning games and not putting together a long sequence of record breaking shit results.

yes sorry, thank you for helping me out there, yes that is what i was saying, i think pardew is dire as a manager, and that Lambert is better than a number of managers in the league.

loosing Delph, hasnt helped and im not convinced on cleveley yet, but if we can get some players performing more to their best then I see no reason why we cant finish mid table this season.

He needs to start showing that with a bit more conviction, then, because recent results are suggesting that's a pretty small number.

Shame, nice enough bloke (I am not having all that "he mumbles" bollocks, either, who cares), but his record here is truly atrocious, over two and a bit seasons.

The amount of negative records he has accumulated is quite startling when looked at in cold light of day. Add in the atrocious number of goals conceded, the chronic issues scoring goals or even looking a thread and the bizarre man management and it looks just incredible that he is still in a job.

Staring down the barrel of a 6th straight defeat, with a really decent chance that will become 8 straight, is as depressing as it gets. I am in full moan mode. So gutted about it all.
