How many games that we have won under Lambert have been anything other than 100mph / in their faces / hit on counter attack??

Pretty much none - because when it comes to getting a team keeping the ball, passing it around, being confident with it, he has not got the first clue.

what's most perplexing is that he didn't set up that way at Norwich. I just don't why it is all he does with us with better players and resources. We've shown in glimpses we can play possession football, even very attractive football scoring great goals. It's like he chooses not to. Where is the attacking intent from the first season? Has he drilled it out of the team?

Who in the hell voted for 'Cautiously optimistic. Maybe he's learnt from his mistakes?'

After 3 wins....really! Everything about the last couple of years instantly forgotten. I honestly thought he'd be gone after the spurs horror show, which was a game nobody playing in Claret and Blue gave a fuck about.

I felt such relief at the end of last season, it looked like the end of both Lerner and Lambert.
(And we stayed up obviously)

To give him a new contract was ridiculous. The General said on here a long time ago the club wouldn't be influenced by fans on message boards, I quite agreed at the time.
Now I'd suggest running the club by poll on here would get you better, more logical decisions.

I'm not sure about the Norwich thing, I think I was seduced by them appearing to stay up with style - suspect it was very similar to us however with no great expectations- they scrapped some good results & were battered in others - can he do different/better??

I have said elsewhere, I would like to think (If Lerner has one just one clue what he is doing)that the new contract would have had a clause in there, that regardless of length of contract, there would be a maximum payout.
Clutching at straws maybe, but that would be the only thing that makes any sense in giving him one,it is dam well sure not a performance based renewal.

They were the 7th highest scorers that season which for a team that 2 years years earlier had been in division 3 is pretty good.

They took the game to us at Villa Park and ended up losing unluckily if I recall correctly.

I've been wondering how much we'd have to pay to get rid of Lambert. I assume that we have to continue paying him whilst he has no other job but once a club stupid enough to hire him, we stop the payments. Can anybody confirm?

The way we negogiate contracts he'd probably get paid by both us and any future employer.

Hull. We got on the ball and dominated them and won the game with plenty to spare.

if 73% of Villa fans think that Lambert is the right person then no wonder we are in the shit we are.

It doesn't even come down to how much it'd cost, it is all about where Lerner's mind is.

He gave him a four year contract a month or so ago.

Why does anyone think he's likely to countenance sacking him any time soon?

He isn't, we need to accept that.

Hull. We got on the ball and dominated them and won the game with plenty to spare.

I don't remember that, I recall us playing very well in the first half, and nowhere near as well in the second, and being glad to hear the final whistle.

We didn't "dominate" them in terms of having the ball, either, as they had significantly more of it than we did.

I don't have any truck with people who will say we didn't out-tactic and kill off Liverpool - we did, quite clearly - but equally, I am not going to see us dominating teams when I've not seen any evidence of it whatsoever.

Hull were far, far more in the game against us than Liverpool were.

My guess is that there would be a change of ownership clause in the contract in the unlikely event that Lerner manages to sell the club.

Other than that it is hard to think of any circumstances football wise where Lerner would sack him.

We are stuck with the Idiot
