He's got a four year contract, he's going nowhere. Lots of moaning by "Villa fans" isn't helpful.

What are the "" marks for?
The moaning probably isn't helpful, but what actually isn't helpful, is being a poor manager and not being able to get players to defend properly for more than a couple of games, also add in to the mix a total lack of creativity and a bias towards average players who get picked in the squad week in week out. Now that's not helpful.

The strongest opinion expressed by our fellow supporters is a silent one as they don't turn up to watch us any more.I have got season ticket, but thousands haven't renewed looking at the empty seats. Not looking forward to the Spuds match at all.

The moaners say they are Villa fans. I was just quoting them. Honest.

What else could they be for?

I have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about.

I'm pretty sure that everybody on here is a Villa fan. Otherwise they're subscribing to utter misery for no apparent reason, which would be a strange way of spending your time.

Indeed.

And the "so called Villa fan" thing is a pathetically reductive argument to use anywhere.

As if anyone who wasn't a Villa fan would give the first shit about the club at the moment.

You can talk, you don't even have a season ticket.

I watched three other games this weekend.

Stoke/Swansea , Cardiff/Forest and Perth/Brisbane

Even with my Villa glasses on it was obvious those 6 teams were all playing far more interesting football than us.

Honestly I am sick of my team playing a shit style of football. Tired of reading the possession stats with our inevitable low number.

What the hell happened to Lamberts first few months? "We are Aston Villa, we are passing the ball."? Since that period of early experimentation he has ignored attractive style of play.

I hold onto a belief Lambert knows what he is doing and can be a good manager for us. But I am getting weary of this "counter is all we know" bollocks.

I don't like losing, but it is MUCH worse when we also play a terrible style of play while we do it.

The thing is our performances in the last few weeks have been excused due to the quality of the opposition. But Everton have been poor this year, so that excuse can't be used anymore and it sounds like we were pretty abject. You can get the odd result playing badly, but over the course of the season you will be found out. Our ball rentention, use of the ball and level of performance have to improve and fast.

We didn't play badly until the second went in. The timing and the manner of the goal in retrospect killed the contest.

This is a genuine question as I didn't see the game, but prior to that point had we created many goal scoring opportunities? Because most reports stated Everton were full value for their lead at half time.

No matter the opposition I don't think you can excuse losing four on the spin without scoring and conceding 11 goals. We've shown no fight whatsoever. We just appear to be happen to try and keep the score down as low as we possibly can.

Yesterday was particularly inexcusable because we put out, on paper, what looked like an attacking side, against an Everton team that's looked ropey at the back this year. Instead of coming quickly out the blocks and taking the game to them we played no different to the previous three and just let them stroll to an easy victory. I don't think it was the second or third which killed us, it was the first goal. From then on it was a stroll for Everton. Baines in particular who has had a woeful season up until now, had the freedom of the park. The Mayor of Birmingham may as well have turned up and offered him the freedom of the City on top of that. Barry dictated the whole game. He's a good player but he is 33 now and never blessed with great speed. A bit of pressing and tempo around him and we could have disrupted him. We never got near him.

It was gutless and clueless yesterday.

Not really. To be honest a second Everton goal felt inevitable. Had they not scored when they did, they'd have carried on strolling along till an opportunity arose. We ended the game with 2 shots on target I believe. Benteke had one disallowed and there was no debate about that. It was the first header he won all game but he had to shove Jagielka(?) out the way to do so.

We had our best spell near the end of the first half with a couple of reasonable moves and some corners but that was only for about 5 minutes and we didn't particularly create anything. Our set pieces were appalling again.

Well, in the real world, quotation marks are used to quote people. Hence, you know, why they are called what they are.
