And not even small heath fans are as big a bunch of twats at thr Bitters. Sad bastards. Not a peep from them when they weren't winning, charging towards Villa fans when they did score. Complete and utter bunch of wankers.

Too negative with the subs imho .KEA tires after 60 mins, he played well 1st half.Bertrand has been a good signing, and i think we look better with Bacuna at RB. Delph had a reasonable game, not a fan of Westwood, Andi was very good tonight, and the Beast was magnificent.

Sat too deep 2nd half, to be fair to the midfielders , they had no options when they had the ball, the 2 FBs dropped back and stopped supporting, so we had no width.A good midfielder, and we are a top 10 team.

 Vlaar MOM.

7 goals, exciting match, we won, go up into the top half again and Matt Murray on Sky Sports reckoned that Villa defended very well to close off opportunities to WB in the second half, whilst Benteke, Delph, Vlaar and when he returns, Agbonlahor will keep us up there.  Exactly what was needed at home.

Looking forward to MOTD!

Respect to all who went, it was a filthy night!

When you look at the top 4 we've beaten two, should have beaten another but for a poor refereeing catalogue of errors, and destroyed a Liverpool team like no other team this for most of the first half last time around. A performance which wasn't given it's full due on the back of Rodgers's 'I got the formation wrong'. Yeah, but only because you thought we were there for the taking. It shows there was no forethought from them going into the game. We have looked good this season. And, unusually, it's been against the better teams. Whether their tactics were poor or not, we still had to go there and take advantage. Which we did. As well as probably any team in the league could. For that, I really don't think the team, and the midfield, were given enough credit.

It is a valid point. We need those 2-3 players that can unlock the sides that park the bus at VP.

Oh and special mention for Andi. I've criticised him a fair bit but he was much improved tonight.

I think Benteke scoring again or at least playing in the manner that they all know he can has given everyone a huge boost. He ran around like a nut tonight. Fair play to him for picking up his game.

Great result after 2 early setbacks

Lowton though dear god he is as bad as Luna now and midfield bar Delph where so poor in possession.Bacuna behind strikers was not tha successful though of course he did finish coolly.Bertrand is a big step up from Luna good signing.

So, do we become tighter, as we all wanted, I think, or just accept that we're a 4-3 team and carrying on playing harem scarem but with players becoming more experienced and therefore better at winning games 3-2, 4-3 etc?

My grandfather hated the Albion.   Small Heath did not even exist in his estimation.  The Albion were our real enemy.  Yardley cemetery will have been rocking tonight.

What fun. Reminds me of when we beat them a few years ago 2-1. Tony Mowbray said after the game 'If they are Top 6 then we'll be fine this season'. We finished 6th and they were relegated.

W@nkers.

After 35 years experience I have to disagree. The bitters are sad. Very sad. The noses are even sadder, the saddest in fact and more violent

Really don't see the pessimism for Lowton, again another assist and remember the formation used did expose the full backs as our midfielders were very tucked in. Lay off!

Personally I don't think Westwood played badly, got bullied by Mulumbu a couple of times but I thought he directed play pretty well in general.  KEA and Sylla were very poor though.

I don't know what to think about Lowton, I thought he gave us a really useful option on the ball and I thought he defended fine for 95% of the time but 2-3 times he just switched off, letting Lugano run free from the free kick being the worst error, I don't know how at fault he was in the anelka thing though, to me they both seemed to slip because Anelka took the ball 2footed as well.  I think the ref was right not to give anything if I'm honest.

Olsson was very lucky with the ref in my opinion, 3-4 times he was right in his face and could've been booked, he got one eventually but I'd have booked him for it much sooner.

Great in . We are a work in progress but Ubuntu improving

Ubuntu could make a real difference if they keep improving.

I think that's one of my favourite posts ever on H&V.
