Sylla, Westwood and El-Ahmadi tonight were very poor. Unfortunately it's not an off day for any of them.

One fantastic thing to realise, though, is that we had eight outfield players that made up for their deficiencies in large part.

Get the fuck in we needed that. The positives -

- Villa win
- Benteke scores again
- Great character to come back from 2-0 down
- Betrand, Delph and Weimann were great and Vlaar good in second half

Negatives

- Defence was shambolic
- Lowton is a complete liability defensively
- We still struggle to hold the ball when we really need it

Overall all though a very welcome win which gives us some breathing space.

Sums it up perfectly for me. I am really loosing patience with Lowton, his tackle on Anelka and marking (or not) Lugano was awful to watch. Weimann and Benteke were great, so was Vlaar in the second half. And Delph. And Bertrand is really good. KEA, Westwood, and Sylla - we can get better than that, a midfielder must be first priority. I am really pleased we finally beat them again. Great ! PS: I really dispise Olsson. Makes the Victory even sweeter :-)

Strange game, take the result. Just waiting for the Tesco bags to start sounding like the
noses with the injustice of losing a 2 goal lead. Well bollocks to em!!! UTV

Credit to Lambert for excellent subs in the end. It might have killed off our attacking intent but it definitely killed of West Brom's, they didn't have a sniff in the last 20 minutes. We're now 5 points off Southampton in 9th and a good 3 point gap from the bottom half. Fantastic.

Well done the Villa. Winning a derby, scoring four goals? I'll take that any day. Great stuff.

I don't know what match you were watching but Baggies' goal threat was not destroyed in the last twenty minutes - it's twenty of the pantshittiest minutes I've spent in my life!

Phew !
Westwood and KEA need replacing.
2 days left to get it  sorted.
Great win after a terrible start.

They are definitely the weak part of the team, KEA is useless, I'd rather play Sylla. We are crying out for decent midfielders to play alongside Delph.

Sylla was worse to be honest and he didnt have the excuse KEA had that he had been pressing all game.

But yeah, outside out delph our midfield is really light.

Sod the performance, derby games are about winning and we did that. You rarely get faultless displays in these matches so I'm not going to pick out performances as it's pointless. Enjoy the moment, enjoy talking to any of their fans and enjoy the fact that a game at VP was entertaining. Amen.
