Didn't some Wolves fans chuck tins of "old gold" (yellow) and black paint over his jag once?

Dog Heads ay they?

I sometimes wonder whether some of these flumps like Kennedy, CMD and Wills 'support' Villa because they see the association with brum making them look a bit in touch with the working class. The irony being that Villa's (active) fan base is probably the least working class of any of the Midlands clubs
From some Boggie at WBA Unofficial.

I like that 'active' bit, which implies they have some massive dormant support just waiting to come to life.

If WOrld War Z ever happens.

Ha ha!

Did anyone else spot the Villa flag on the conductors podium during the Last Night of The Proms?

You can see it clearly when Nigel is playing

I'm guessing he threw in the word 'probably' as he hasn't quite completed his intense research of every club in the entire Midlands.

The other irony being that the Stripeys have reinvented themselves as the club of the trendy Midlands literati.

Bill Howell is the only known Albion fan who has the ability to read.

Its a point of view that seems to persist about Villa. I know a very middle class Swedish guy who moved over here and chose Birmingham as his team cos they are 'the working class club'. Right on middle class folk seem to gravitate towards what they perceive to be 'authentic' working class. They have a daft assumption of working class being all about failure so they plump for the down and out clubs. As if working class people wouldn't be interested in supporting decent football teams in decent stadiums.

Said it before and I'll say it again. One of the best football marketing jobs this century has been the Stripeys going from a nothing club watched by Black Country dullards to plucky little outsiders enjoying their time in the sun, patronised by the big boys, to their current position, regarded as purveyors of scintillating football, the fashionable club of the chattering classes. I know, and know of, more of their supporters in the media than any other club.

I meant a different type of middle class fan to the glory hunter type (hence 'right on'). The type like my example. He wanted to support a working class club so just assumed that must be Birmingham because they're rubbish, get small crowds and their ground is a dump.

As somone from very humble beginings ( born in my parents Digs in Aston Church Rd, close to Taronis scrap yard) I have expressed my middle class pretentions by ordering Nigels greatest hits from Amzon.
Is it not an oxymoron by describing the noses as working class ?

That's unfair.

We know they work, because that's why they can't get to the game.
