The irony being that Villa's (active) fan base is probably the least working class of any of the Midlands clubsFrom some Boggie at WBA Unofficial.I like that 'active' bit, which implies they have some massive dormant support just waiting to come to life.If WOrld War Z ever happens.

Right on middle class folk seem to gravitate towards what they perceive to be 'authentic' working class. They have a daft assumption of working class being all about failure so they plump for the down and out clubs. As if working class people wouldn't be interested in supporting decent football teams in decent stadiums.

I know a very middle class Swedish guy who moved over here and chose Birmingham as his team cos they are 'the working class club'. Albion. Fashionable, really?
As somone from very humble beginings ( born in my parents Digs in Aston Church Rd, close to Taronis scrap yard) I have expressed my middle class pretentions by ordering Nigels greatest hits from Amzon. Is it not an oxymoron by describing the noses as working class ?
