I remember years ago he used to buy old Jags and spray paint them claret and blue.  You'd see them on match days.  Has anyone got any pics?

You could try looking at page 2 of the thread  ;)

I thought I did - today's hangover must have been worse than normal - missed it!!! :-)

he would come over an absolute knob if it wasn't for the fact he that he is just a shear genius with the violin,
you just know that everyone looking at him in the audience and playing with him in the orchestra are thinking he is a bit weird and nutty but fuck me he can just make that fiddle talk

He always comes over as a really decent person to me. Don't know of any knobbish behaviour from Kennedy.

Agreed and quite the opposite.  There are tons of stories of him giving people lifts, helping out with tickets etc.  He's just unconventional, he doesn't confirm to the others and that's one of the things I love about him.

The fact that he's a Villa fan from the days of relegation to the 2nd Division before football became the sanctuary of the Lovejoys and Nesbitts  of this world just makes it all the better.

no agree with you both,
I was more meaning the way he dresses and acts when he is performing, you really have to be brilliant at what you do to get away with it

also like others who have met him ,   I had a piss next to him at West Ham away first game last season, said hello on the way out and he gave me a little man hug

also saw him at Athletico some years back, in the thick of it with the away fans, no posh box for Nigel he was being pushed around like everyone else

I sold him a copy of the fanzine on a dark winters evening outside the old Trinity Road stand [I think we were playing Newcastle]

No free copy for him from me!

He's just a top bloke. Genuinely enthusiastic about the Villa,  nice to fellow fans (popped over for a chat before one game when I was selling H+V). He's a genius with the violin too.

What's not to like?

Rule Brittania now. I love being British, if countries were football clubs Britain would be Villa. The one with all the class and tradition.

Yet, ultimately, the one nobody really cares about, and have never won anything for many, many years?

Wimbledon? Olympic gold medals? Tha Ashes? Wars?

Or are you on about the Eurovision song contest?

I was thinking football.

Come on though, speak to other clubs fans and nobody really cares about us. Nobody hates us (other than the obvious). We're just there. Unless you support Villa, would you really pay any attention to us? I don't think people do.

Just my opinion.

Just your opinion, but not one I agree with. Perhaps it's a generational thing.
Plenty of people I meet speak about the Villa. Some still puzzled about O'Neill flouncing off, some impressed with what Lambert is doing and some remembering trips to VP with their respective teams. If you allow yourself to think that the football is only about the clubs anointed by Sky then I suppose you might draw that conclusion but if you look at it from a wider perspective then I think you get a different picture.

I speak to a lot of fans from other clubs who have strong memories of their first trip to Villa Park.

And so what if fans from other clubs "don't care about us". To be honest I couldn't care less about any football club other than the Villa but it doesn't make those other clubs any less relevant than what they really are.
