No need for shots at Bully. He was a terrific striker and if memory serves we were linked with him several times.

Quote from: villabear on March 10, 2018, 09:26:36 PMSo so waiting to hear Pat the oh so sanctimonious Wolves fan after his righteous babbling. Let’s mind that gap eh?He really is a loathsome bore isn't he? Same shit every week all delivered in that pompous humourless tone. I will never understand why anyone ever feels the need to ring in to a radio show to tell everyone else how great their team is and what they're going to do to someone else's team day after day. That goes for the Villa arsehole who calls in all the time as well. Utter bellends

I think he wanted to remain there, finish his career and become a Wolves legend. I don’t think he bottled it. He did alright for England in the few games he played.

Bully scored over three hundred goals for them. If you can't be deemed a club legend with a record like that I don't know what you have to do. Completely agree. And the fact the Albion sold him for a set of Dolly Allen albums is very funny too. Also agree. Had a lot of time for Steve Bull growing up as a kid even though he played for another team.

I've probably told this story before so will just summarise. Me and a mate (both Villa fans) met Steve Bull in the casino on Broad Street a few years ago and had a good chat with him at the bar. He was a sound bloke and happy to talk (whilst his Mrs was on the casino floor). Anyway I asked him how close he really came to joining Villa - he basically said he was up for it it and in his own words his bag was packed and he was ready to go, but the deal fell through.
I think I've mentioned this before on here but I remember an interview with him when he talked about not having moved. He said that the nearest he came was when Coventry bid for him. He was interested but ultimately stayed where he was happy and that 'it's not like it was Liverpool or Villa' that he was turning down. Always liked him since.

It's not who you score against that matters; it's what those goals mean in the context of your club's history.
