I don't expect Liverpool to sit back against us by any stretch. They will feel they should be dominating us, even on our own patch. I think they'll come at us and we'll pick them off. I don't see a clean sheet, but with Tekkers and Gabby in the form they are in, I think we can score against their backline. Mignolet will still be having nightmares about conceding 6 against us too.

I am interested to see if we approach this game at home, as we have done the two previous away games.

I expect that at home we'll be seeing a lot of that 4-2-4 (including Tonev) we used a little in pre-season.

This weekend though?  If it ain't broke, dont fix it - keep the same line-up (with Okore in at CB) keep Tonev et-al as impact subs.

This tiredness thing the Liverpool fans and Lawro are relying on.Surely at this stage of the season it will mean we will be more match fit and sharper.I'm hoping it will be to our advantage

We could have done without that game in the week but on the plus side it's given the team another 90 minutes playing time together. I only saw bits of the Liverpool game last week but they were lucky not to throw away three points.

Tiredness should not be an issue at this point in the season - the players have made a good start and will probably champing at the bit to get at Liverpool - a big villa park crowd and a young hungry and confident team - i really feel this game Is there for the taking , without Suarez Liverpool lack the same threat - we will win 3-1.

I watched most of it and they should have been out of sight after half an hour. They may not be as profligate as they have been over the last 2 seasons. That said agree with the fitness thing. If it was under a previous manager and we were heading into late February with this schedule then I'd agree fitness may be tested. We aren't. If they can't play 3 games in a week at the start of the season then something wrong with conditioning training.

That said, Lawro is still a bellend

The Liverpool fans seem to think Kolo Toure is somehow going to keep Benteke quiet Well I rate Ivanovic a lot more highly and he had to resort to violence. If he's so great why isn't he still at City ?

Did you see we are 3-1 to win? At home?
Tempting...

More than that with some bookies. I wouldn't call it the bet of the year but it's ridiculous value.
