While this shitstorm unfolded, the club asked its fans to tweet about their favourite Premier League moments on behalf of Sky.

Modern football, right there. Fucking c***s, the lot of them.

Today of all days the Club need to just give it a rest.

If people carry on actually believing what footballers say in prepared statements they will continually be disappointed

Yeah, but in this case it's not like it was wording that could be misinterpreted. He's just flat out lied.

I never took any of it seriously and said so at the time

The next player that walks through the doors at Villa and says 'great club' proud to play for them' etc will just be going through the motions of football speak

If you take what they seriously you will be let down more often than not

Yes I understand that from a new player, but it's a bit different from your captain who has been at the club 6 years who specifically says he is not going to leave and talks about how loyal he is twice. I think it's fairly understandable to be aggrieved at that.

Classless, clueless fucktard, everything that's wrong with modern day football.
Don't lose sleep over this idiot.

I'm still staggered he's done this. What a lowlife wanker . It's surreal

He won't get injured sitting on the bench.

Arsenal will be hoping Citeh will play Delph against them this season so their players can run past him like he wasn't there.  Kinda like the FA Cup. Delph and the rest of our team were shown up for what they are that day. Shit themselves when they realised they were boys against men. Citeh have a goodish squad player on their hands. But don't expect him to step up to the plate on the big occasion.

I hope he realises how hated he is now. It could easily have been avoided too, because I genuinely think if he'd put a more realistic release fee clause into his contract peoole would have accepted it. Or if he'd at least have honoured 18 months of his contract. But now he will go down as one of the most hated players in the clubs history. I hope he fails badly there.

Sadly it appears we played that final and the spine of the team possibly all knew it was their last game at the club (& played like they couldn't give a fuck) - given vlaar Delph benteke

He's just ticking a box for them though. English and only costing £8m. As for Fibian, 20 games in all competitions tops.

Enjoy your retirement son.

I would summarise that with big Ben leaving then delph performed his u turn. I just think it's majorly foolish in released statements what has happened. Sounding so definite in staying was music to fans ears but the lack of respect to how I was toyed with emotionally is not on. I would imagine an interview or statement would come out from him in time. As to his service he was great but this behaviour has been a misguided and plain selfish. If he really loved us he would have stayed. It's sickening but avfc move forward and a fee at least was gained. Good luck as a player I like his desire and I hope he cements his place in city team and progress on. I imagine some of the villa boys will make it known on pitch when he plays us . Baker, Clark Gabby will be three. Gary Gardner we love you . Give Herdy a chance! Too

I'll never be as upset as when Andy Gray went to Wolves. Nor will that female lines woman come to think of it.
