Never put down to malice what you can put down to stupidity. And boy, is he coming over as dim.I can believe he doesn't understand how a contract works.Maybe Raheem will turn   his head and tell him how wonderful life was at Liverpool.Or QPR, more to his level .
Nice one Alex...summed up very neatly.

Reading the statement on the club site it is obvious this took them completely by surprise and it was such a terse statement I think they are just as angry as we are.The printers who do all the club marketing stuff have had to bin everything and start again over the weekend ,I hope he lives to regret his decision, but I will never regret supporting our wonderful club which compares so well with that classless ,souless and boring lot he is now joining.

For once I don't blame the club - it is obvious he sat down and thought about the oodles of cash he was rejecting for the love of a few thousand fat Brummies and fucked off to the Mancs - he's an idiot for not thinking about it more last week

I won't lose any sleep tonight and will be up at 3.45 to get ready for work. I won't have to worry about what people say in the press about me and I won't have to worry about bumping  into villa fans in the next few years. I will sleep well tonight with no worries . Will good old honest Fabian feel the same.

I would have respected his decision last week to go, knowing that he could have gone on a free by letting his contract run down. However, the boost he gave the fans with his comments have changed that. The only other Villa player in my 45 years of watching them I despise as much is Hodge, another total cock

Hodge never gave the impression he was anything other than a mercenary rat deserting a sinking ship. Delph told us less than a week ago how much he was looking forward to captaining it.

Article in the mirror written by someone who appears to be trying to be a bigger c**t than the one who's just left us.

The closing line of "Delph himself was never boasting about 'loyalty', so those who bragged on his behalf were doing a decent professional a disservice." is such utter bullshit that I could smell it through my laptop.

The two of them are as bad as each other to me, he would have gone with my best wishes last week but not now

You know those fans that you mock? The ones who take it all so seriously? Without us you are fucking nothing. We are the lifeblood of it all. Without us to go through the turnstiles, to watch the telly with all those adverts and to buy the merchandise there is no Premier League. Without us there are no cynical Premier League footballers and without us there is nobody to buy your putrid rag that pays your shekels. So start treating us with some fucking respect.

This is the argument I've been having this evening. I don't ever remember Steve Hodge pledging his loyalty to Aston Villa, TWICE.

Now all I can remember is his spineless Cup Final performance and that clown like tackle at the end of home Semi with Bradford. He'll be much easier to replace than Benteke will.

“Leaving Aston Villa Football Club is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make,” Delph said. “I’ve had some amazing times and made some great friends during my time at the club and I’ll always be thankful to them for giving me the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

“As has been widely reported I initially turned down the opportunity to join Manchester City. That decision was purely down to the love I have for Aston Villa and its great supporters.

“When I was made captain of Villa it was a huge honour for me and I took the responsibility incredibly seriously. I signed my new contract last season with the view of staying at the club for the duration of the deal and never with the intention to leave a year later.

“My decision to stay initially was purely based on the emotion and feelings that I hold for the club and the people there that I would be walking away from - rather than looking at the football opportunity that had been placed in front of me.

“I’ve experienced some incredible low times in my career with injuries and at one point even questioned whether I would even return to Premiership level. Despite that, I’ve always been 100% committed to improving my game and developing as a player and a person.

“As a kid watching the game on TV and then as a young footballer you dream about testing yourself against the best in the world, to compete for major trophies and to play in the Champions League. I’ve proved that I can play at the very top level with England and believe I owe it to myself to take the challenge of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in Manchester City.

“I have been immensely proud to captain such a great club and want to thank everyone at Aston Villa - most importantly the fans - for the amazing support they have shown me during my time there.

“I am now excited for the future with Manchester City and helping the club to succeed in the coming season and beyond.”

P.S
And a truck load of money.

Well if you intended to see out the deal why did you insert an £8 million clause? And you didn't see a year of the contract you barely saw out 6 months.

Oh do Fuck Off you patronising c*** and if I see you again at at the Belfry don't be surprised if I piss on your shoes. You killed the last bit of class in English football, do one

Delph rubbing it in a bit with that comment. No mention of hi time at Villa, think it might be a while before the fallout finally comes out

What you mean his two years on the treatment table in the good years or his three years fighting relegation in the fit years?

In 6 years we got 1 season of over 25 league games and just 3 goals. Not much to talk about really is there? He will be replaced easier than it feels right now.

Am I right in thinking that is the last of the MON signings gone (if you discount Guzan on the technicality that the club released him & TSM2 signed him again on a free)?
