It could be that the media just got out of control and just fed itself on a nonstory, but everyone was sure he was leaving just yesterday. Birmingham Mail (spit) reckon he was due for his medical at Man City today, so to me it looks like he was due to move but for some reason has changed his mind. Or maybe I'm just trying to justify our (my) outrage.

From Bluemoon

Not to do with the medical as such, but an issue with the player rather than the club holding it up.

As mentioned before, I'm not "ITK" - just passing on what I've been told.
Sounds like he is having second thoughts about moving to City then. IF that rumour is true.

He probably saw what a fucking dump Manchester is, I could have saved him the trip by telling him that before he left. Still don't think he is that great a player and I said that on the thread before this all blew up. But he's good at the level we exist at so it's good news.

In this moment of joy I hope we all take a moment to single out the BBC sports department for yet anther demonstration of just how awful they are as a source.

Their story saying he is leaving is still on their front page by the way.

Twats.

Like Back to The Future is the image of Delph in the kit launch picture going to suddenly reappear?

Perhaps he re-read his January quotes overnight and thought 'oh shit, did I say that? this looks bad'.

I didn't see that coming, bloody hell. He's done the right thing though.

24 carat legend, always thought so. Too good for City.  I bet that bastard Grealish is eyeing a move though.

Does this mean we have to give Gueye back?

As Victor Meldrew would say 'I Don't believe it'. Sky Sports, TalkSport, Birmingham Mail and Daily Mail all said he was going. But I will only be 100% happy, if he's still wearing a Villa shirt on 1st Sep or whatever date the transfer window closes.

He obviously read all the rational, balanced and well-reasoned discussions on here and saw the error of going to Citeh. In the meantime............ how do I get all this egg off my face?

It's important now the club back up what they've said to Delph. I',m sure he'll keep his side of the bargain with good performances leading up to euro 2016.

We need far better quality alongside him in central midfield. Not just Gueye but another one on top of that rather than crossing our fingers Gardner will turn into the next Cowans.

If Benteke goes with the money we need to replace him with a top class striker. No more relying on lower league punts from here and abroad as the basis of our signings.

Delph has that ambition, Sherwood certainly does and y'know maybe if we finish higher than 16th or 17th it might be easier to convince players we're building something and so we don't have these endless rollercoaster transfer sagas every other summer.

Over to you Lerner or new custodian.

Apparently he told the club and team mates he was off so he has either changed his mind or dare I say failed the medical..

Perhaps he had a test seating on the subs bench and thought it just wasn't as comfortable as he had hoped it would be?

I'll forgive him but I'm putting a clause in my forgiveness in the event that he leaves.

Also SSN - go and find some new sources you sorry excuse for a journalist organisation. They're on par with the Mirror with things like this.

I think there is more to this than meets the eye. If the story was a total nonsense, why did his promo photo for the new kit  get removed from the os

Was in the club shop when I heard this news just. Spoke to the guy behind the counter who said they were told to remove all the Delph posters they had put up late yesterday so there defiendly was something in it. Glad he changed his mind. Better off being a star for us than bench warming for City, especially with Euros next summer
