Like Gareth Barry in 2008 and even Benteke when he did his U turn two years back, all will be forgiven and forgotten when he has a couple of MOTM games in August.

I'm happy, he's the captain ffs and an important player at this club. One less thing to do as him, Gueye and hopefully another new signing should be our strongest central midfield in recent times.

There must be a lot of people on here going back through the last few pages and frantically pressing the delete button. :)

I was accused of being a nose last night for not laying into him.

Nice. Great news. However he's still got an £8m release clause, so this feels very much like he's decided to give us 'one more year'.

It's better than nothing, obviously - but he's still gonna be off at some point.

I imagine he's been sat waiting for his missus to drop, titting about on the internet and seen a combination of us slagging off his loyalty and City fans slagging off his ability. Surely there's no way we'd have removed him from kit pictures unless he'd said he was off?

The release clause is still there, it's not gone away, but if he has another 'ever present' (or close to it) season for us and makes the Euros squad and team, then he can probably go next year.

Not saying there isn't one but it all appears to me to be based on the same foundation as he is off to Man City which he isn't. "He's off to Man City" made up nonsense.  £8 million release clause could equally be made up nonsense.

Very odd, wonder if there was really anything ever in it or has Randy flown back to convince him? Bonkers

I was joking btw.

Still a little resentment from me for considering it. But guess the important thing is we have one less to buy.

It all started a long, long time ago.  Then there was this big bang.
