Sinclair and Rodwell aren't good comparisons. Delph is more comparable to Jimmy and whydidnthetakethepenalty.

He'll do ok at City. Who wouldn't want close to twice the wages for less work ?

And, just to prove their idiocy, this is what they've just tweeted all of three minutes ago.

I shit you not.

He's pointing to his sky blue sleeve. Jack can't believe it and Gabby knows summat but aint tellin. The clues were all there.

The weasel

Scott: You'll never get a game Fabian
Gabby: Shhh! Or he might change his mind...
Jack: But he's our Captain
Fabian: I'll be captain at City within a month...
Christian: Deluded - You couldn't make it up...why not me, Lord?
Ciaran: I don't understand

For two years.. and then leave in search of first team football to get in the World Cup squad?

How about every English player they've brought in?

Modern footballers, eh? What a scab.

May all his children have small penises.  Even the girls.

Well said that man. I needed a laugh.

Collymore was spot on then, he said he'll go in the summer just after he signed the new contract.

I'm just as pissed off with the club for the making of that cheesy video and leading the fans up the garden path.

What a wanky thing to do.

I hate football sometimes. If Delph had gone to Southampton in the basis they are a progressive club where he could make a big impact, play week on and week out, maybe take on the captain's role and take them further - then I'd have some respect for it.

But it's always jumping to "instant success". I don't see how that is rewarding for a pro. I could join Chelsea / City and bag some silverware but clearly wouldn't actually be responsible for it. It's just hollow and pathetic. Yeah double wages but there comes a point surely when 20k or 100k a week is basically the same - more than enough but a factor of shitloads.

I'll boo, because of the lies.

I'm just disappointed.

He said how good The Villa had been to him and he wasn't going to leave such a good club.
He's chosen to join ManCiŁy where I'm pretty sure everyone on the planet knows he won't get to play every week...he's taken the Scott Sinclair gamble, but he's older and wiser (?) and should know better. I wouldn't be surprised one iota if he's looking to get out in about 18 months so that he can play regularly and get back in the England team.
I feel he was a really good fit for us and us for him - high profile at the club, captain by example (!!!!), in the England team and we loved him.....then he chooses to f**k off to the big money boys where I think he will soon disappear amongst all their other "not quite top 4" players and be a goodish English player to help ciŁy comply with ffp rules.

What a shame.

It seems the mob have already found him guilty though so I'll ask, again, if he's such a terrible person, with no genuine affection for Aston Villa, why didn't he just leave on a free?

Maybe because a career ending injury in the last 5 months of his contract would have left him up shit creek without a paddle, whereas after signing he could have picked up Ł60,000 a week (or whatever) from his bed for 4 years, which allows plenty of time and money to sort himself out?

I'd like to think he's not that cynical, but that video is a very hard watch today.

It seems a bit far-fetched to me, I just think maybe he changed his mind.

I've seen you do it many times, after you say "no, I'm not going to have another pint".

Delph signed his contract and made his statement when Lambert was Manager. So was his sacking a game changer for him? Perhaps he does not like Sherwood. Whatever the reason if he goes we have to move on. Could not care less what happens to him in future.

Taking the negative views of some and we are doomed to relegation already.
Much prefer to see this as a positive opportunity to rebuild and improve the midfield. Both Sherwood and Wilkins are former midfielders and I would hope they have some idea of how they want the midfield to perform and have in mind the players they want to get to achieve that goal.
