If he had just signed a contract and then left I would be ok with this. But signing a contract, then professing your love for the club and it being your home etc and then going leaves a bitter taste.

I can't help feeling the main reason they would want him is - yes he's a good player - but he's English and they need homegrown numbers to meet ffp and to replace Milner - who did have a lot of games last season but he plays wider than Delph. If he's competing with the likes of Nasri, Silva, Navas and Toure for more central MF I don't think he'll get as many games. Time will tell
He won't bench warm.
If he leaves it will confirm in my mind that he wanted to leave before he signed his new deal but no one came in for him. He was only convinced to sign a new deal because of a such a low release fee and the prospect of a nice wage boost in the interim.Whose strategy is this to get our best players to sign new deals by adding low release clauses in them. The Benteke one was before Fox joined so im not sure - but it's an incredibly naïve tactic.

Leaving it so late was, but the final deal was very good business.
