I would rather have played like that tonight and got robbed and come home with nothing than have played poorly and scrambled to a point.

Blimey, I have never, ever felt that about Villa

The PL need Chelsea to win to keep their'worldwide' fans happy.

A Villa fan rang TalkSport offering the exact same opinion.

Frankly, that's a ridiculous suggestion and equivalent to taking a massive shit on a keyboard.
Really, so the Premier League dont wont top dollar when it comes to TV deals then? Why do the top 5 get more TV money than anybody else. The amount Liverpool have got for the past 5 seasons when they have been shit is just plain stupid. It is looking after the cash cow.

To suggest that there is some sort of conspiracy theory stemming from the Premier League forcing referees to make dodgy calls is ludicrous.
Why? the Premier League was formed to make money and make more money, dont forget the PL makes more money from TV abroad than here.

My biggest concern is how tired will some of the players be for the Liverpool game after these 2 games. I think we may need to change a couple of things around Saturday.
Agree and we are picking up injuries already Baker Clark Sylla. I can see us losing vs them.

After what has gone before in the history of sport, what we have seen in Italy etc, I just don't get how people can think it is that loopy to suggest there is bias to the top 4-5 sides to ensure audiences and viewers are kept happy.

Skynet control all PL referees. They are all plugged into a central console unit which funnily enough has a mohoghani veneer fascia.

Quite right I would love chipsticks to answer why the 'big' clubs get away with so much on the pitch. It can't be just luck.

we won four home matches in a row vs them from 1992-95.

1-0 Daley
4-2 Saunders 2 Atkinson Parker
2-0 Yorke 2
2-0 Yorke 2

And we beat them 1-0 96-97 & 2-1 97-98

Whilst most footy fans would love someone, anyone to break the top domination, Sky and the premier league are happy for it to stay the same. Keeps the overseas fans happy

i'd take a repeat of the 1-0 from two seasons ago. 3 points please villa. do we know who the ref is?

Clattenburg according to this http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/aug/match-officials-appointments-24-26-august.html

Clattenburg. Memory is hazy as to how we've got on in his games.

he did the 5-1!

As far as refs go, it's pretty evident that refs who give decisions against the top teams find themselves relegated. They look after the big clubs & they get to referee at the top level.  You could argue a case for and against all the decisions tonight bar one, Terry's handball, which was as blatant as they come.

With regard to the special one, he is an ideal match for Chelsea as he has no class either, his sneaky poke in the eye of the coach at Barcelona says more about him than I every could.

We have come so far in the last 8 months & special mention to Delph who is finally showing what a class act he is.

I believe it's because the referees are human beings at the end of the day. When refereeing a game at Old Trafford, Anfield, or knowing that a man with as much pull as Mourinho or, while he was still active, especially Ferguson has got to play on their minds. I can acknowledge this trend that big clubs are getting the bigger decisions, but I refuse to believe that it's because of some widespread undercover conspiracy, but more of a result of extraneous variables that affect the mentality of those making decisions. On a side note, the only incidents getting coverage whenever this topic rears it's ugly head are those going against little clubs, and thus those are the ones we hear about, making it seem like there are no decisions going against 'big' clubs.
