Quote from: SoccerHQ on August 21, 2013, 10:05:45 PMEnd of the day, we lost a game and realistically 1 point. I think even if Andi scores one of his chances, we'd have sat back afterwards and conceded anyway. Not too fussed again as we have 3 points from two games, that's 1 more than two battling draws at the Emirates and Stamford Bridge. And if there's one thing that's held us back over the last 20 years, it's this obsession we have with drawing games, thinking it's great when we string an 8 or 9 unbeaten run even though 6 of those games have been drawn.Another good thing is we've got two of our toughest away games out of the way and we've still got a positive goal difference. Generally teams that have positive goal differences end up in the top half. All in all, we certainly have the right man in charge for the task ahead this season. You are spot on Soccer, but tonight I will be bitter. Tomorrow, I will be apprehensive. One of my biggest annoyances with Villa is not backing up displays like the last couple with similar at home. And Liverpool looked decent last week.

That's what he does. It's the same as Ferguson. He must have offered more compliments about us under O'Neill then any opposition manager ever did. Nearly always after we'd just rolled over for another 3-0 defeat. If we'd held out for a point, I'm sure Mourinho wouldn't have been so complimentary.

You've clearly made your mind up that everyone is against us and that there is some shadowy conspiracy going on, so I'm not going to bother trying to change your mind. But I assume that this conspiracy that means we would never get an injury time penalty at Chelsea was set up sometime after 2007? No conspiracy just cheating.

Here is Paul Lambert's take on that incident involving Christian Benteke and Branislav Ivanovic, and also John Terry's handball in the Chelsea area, which went unpunished: "It is easy to come on here and have sour grapes but it is there for everybody to see. He clearly elbowed Christian Benteke, it was a sending off."The penalty was a penalty, everybody saw that. He missed two huge moments. "How can you miss that magnitude of a decision? It is beyond me.
At best it is a mix of bias towards the Sky4 and incompetence. Neither of which should be acceptable.

Ferguson was frequently very complimentary about teams who weren't a threat to him.
