I feel sorry for the kid. its was a full on challenge from a top professional athlete. it knocked ten shades of sh*t out of him and I can't seehow gabby can come out of this looking anything other than a bully. yeah, funny in a way but the kid was playing in a charity match and although I didn't seethe game I bet there weren't too manyfull on challenges. Not sure what gabby was playing at or what he was trying to prove.

Mate, just watch it. He barely touched him.

barely touched him for a competitive matchmaybe but a muscled-up prem player against an unassuming kid is always going to end one way.

Are you seriously suggesting it was a full on challenge! He fell a bit awkwardly! He is a what, 19 year old lad? It was hardly Ali taking on Verne Troyer here, it was Gabby running after a ball and making a challenge that you would see most weeks at ALL levels of football, including Doncaster Reserves I am sure. If you ask the lad, I am fairly confident he will say it was just a challenge in a game of football, and be a lot less precious about it! Amazed you think it was harsh. See Balde. B about 8 times in the first half for way more tasty challenges. And a couple from from a certain grey haired midfield maestro.

The 'N' word eh? Oh well, I suppose we already knew they were fucking morons from their musical taste. Now we know they're fucking racist morons as well. The dim-witted c***s.

I haven't particularly dug deeply but I haven't seen the 'N' word, yes it's all silly and pathetic (as my very own 1D'er said) but they are silly, immature children. Most kids start their musical journey liking pop music and throwaway bubblegum pop and those that say they didn't  are either liars or Bobby Gillespie.

Dave said 'copious use of the 'N' word'.

It made me very angry. I didn't mean to aim it at your daughter or anybody who wouldn't/didn't use the 'N' word.

I'm going on re-tweets from my son who has been calling out several..errr..directioneers (kill me now) on Twitter for their bile filled tweets aimed at Gabby. And yes, several of them did indeed use the N word unfortunately. Obviously I know that these are probably young, impressionable kids, but there's never a wrong time to tell them that they are racist idiots, right?

Yeah seconded. I didn't get round to watching it unfortunately but i'm glad so many people turned out for him. That's something he'll remember for a very long time.

As for that 'tackle', I thought it was quite amusing.

The guy would have been subbed at half time anyway as he can only play in one direction.

Curse that bloody modern technology and auto correct nonsense. Please don't sue me Pauline unless DC5 is Bono in which case you do love him. Probably.

Just to go back a bit about the John Terry thing:-

He's not a cartoon villain and this is the real world.  Of everybody I've ever met, none of them are either 100% good or 100% bad.  I have no qualms about the fact he felt for Petrov and took part in the game.  It's a very human reaction.  However, that doesn't mean he was misunderstood on past transgressions or that he's turned a new leaf.  As I said, anyone is capable of compassion, even people like John Terry.

As for Gabby and the 1D kid, it's utter garbage.  A nothing challenge and far worse went on in the game.  Similar to Terry, he deserves credit for taking part, no matter what the feelings are towards his band.  These kids on twitter really need to get a grip of themselves.

I caught this story last night and couldn't stop laughing. The big pansy got knocked over by a shoulder charge by a pro athlete and went flying. What a storm in a teacup. I can only imagine all of those girls fainting as they watched that or them replicating their idol by throwning up their next meal.

Think it shows just how powerful top athletes are. In the secret footballer there is a bit where he talks about the physical impact of the game and quite how intense it is. He mentions getting tackled by Valencia and describing how it was like being hit by a car. Gabby's challenge was a standard Premier league challenge, but left the bloke being physically sick.
