We've won all our six pointers so far this season. Incredible stuff, really.

We might need to extend that run against Whelan's Wankers.

I think we'll get at least a point against Chelsea, mainly because of their run of games. Not nervous at all now.

I am.

Looks like we're saving the overdue clean sheet until next week.

We didn't play well but won. Sign of a good team. On the balance of good chances created we just about deserved it too.

Except for the one that, in the long run, may matter the most: the 3-0 home defeat to Wigan. If we'd even drawn that we'd be safe by now.

Not seen anything as been out all day, thanks to Sox Sports News for keeping me updated all day, even if it did nearly kill me and aged me 10 years! I'm pretty sure the fine folks of Halesowen will be wondering why someone started swearing at their phone in Asda and then spent 10 minutes singing "I believe in the Villa" under their breath as they shopped.

UTV Keep the Faith.

Wigan might have won today but they've got 4 games in a week and a half (including today's) before they play us, with Arsenal being the last one.

Except for the three successive home games of Wigan, Soton and Newcastle.

Not in a million year are we safe. Doesnt matter how many teams are below us, the points gap is still too small. Chelsea want Champions League and Wigan could need a win to stay up.

Hardest run in out of the lot for me

Amazingly, I agree Tuscans, and am more worried about relegation today than I was yesterday. The gap is the same, but a tough fixture for Wigan they have won.

Sorry but Albion are fucking wankers for throwing that away. Watch them lose next week too! Bastards. They are going to relegate us without even fucking playing us.

I am furious with them!

Fair play to Villa though. Face of adversity, again they came up trumps.

Bennett had a real shocker, but Norwich played him very cleverly and Hughton clearly had a game plan to get as tight as possible on him with or without the ball.

Benteke must have had close on his worst 90 minutes for us. Bassong talked him out of it today I am convinced. In his ear all game.

Weimann was anonymous.

But thankfully, thankfully, Delph, Westwood and Gabby were awake. Delph I thought was class all game, and Gabby took the goals brilliantly.
What do you mean Amzingly!!?? Don't you ever agree with me? ;-)

I think now we are seeing why we actually bought Fabian. I feel for him with the injuries he had since joining but he has been really good in what he does the second half of this season.

Like I said earlier on during the game I would of liked to see Westwood further up the pitch. He has that pass on him.

I really hate Martinez and Wigan
Much rather them in the league then Norwich, Newcastle or Sunderland.

Total agree, I think Martinez has done a fantastic job!

I suppose there's no exact science to it, but people generally only talk about six pointers past March.

The damage can be done earlier, of course.  But the table really only starts to shape up in the final streches. A win against sides in and around you in December might have absolutely no bearing come April/ May, as the table can look completely different.

We've won all our six pointers since February. Incredible stuff, really.

We might need to extend that run against Whelan's Wankers.

Made a small change to your post.

We're not safe yet but we've given ourselves a good chance of staying up and we're one of the few teams down there showing good form.  Unfortunately Wigan are probably the other one.  That last minute goal from Gabby changed everything.  I dread to think what it would've been like if we'd drawn or lost that game.

We've dropped countless* points from winning positions and/or late goals conceded.  With a better defence or a bit of luck, we'd have another 9 or 10 points.

*I haven't counted them

Ill take two wins but I think just one more draw could by the smallest margins be good enough. Shame about Michu being injured so looks like he's out of the Wigan game but happy about Wigan still having to play Arsenal and being in the cup final.
