West Ham have two tough games coming up.  If we get 3 points out of our next two and they lose both, they're in the shit as well.

I reckon we will win 3 straight at some point between now and the end, and pick up up 5 wins in total. And I think 40 will be needed to stay up.

I'm rather looking forward to my day out in Brighton though. A nice stroll around the Lanes and a bijoux little lunch of the vegetarian variety before heading out to the stadium which has a lovely setting. And all a 40 minute train ride from me..

Will sir be attending an exotic all-male discotheque after dinner and drinks?

I was told a few years back by a Blackpool hotel owner that it had overtaken Brighton as the gay capital of the country. Maybe I should be asking myself why he thought I would be interested in that little nugget of information.

Were you wearing that really tight t-shirt that shows your belly-button?

On average, teams that managed to avoid premiership relegation (placed 17 in the league) managed to produce 38.6 points. But there have been seasons (2004/05) when 34 points were enough, as well as seasons (2002/03) when teams needed 44 to play another season of Premiership football.
On average, 36 points was not enough to avoid the drop.

The spread of lowest points culminating in relegation is 34 at the bottom, to 44. This season looks like being a low-points sort of season so where is the cut-off likely to be, do you think? - 35, 36, 38, 40?

Hard to tell, reading looked dead and buried and then won 3 in 4 beating albion, newcastle , sunderland and drawing with chelsea- thats something er must do, back to back wins would be a huge lift.

I've got us beating Reading, QPR, Fulham and Sunderland and drawing at Stoke and Norwich.  This would give us 38 pts and I think, just about keep us up.  I do think it is key winning four games from somewhere to get us to minimum 36 and then hope we can maybe even pick up 4 draws.

Going to be tight whatever !!!

A few years back, after attending a couple of fancy dress parties as first the biker from the Village People and then Freddie Mercury, a mate of mine suggested this looked 'a bit dodgy'. When I informed him my next fancy dress appearance was as the iconic ladies man figure that Richard Gere portrayed in An Officer And A Gentleman his response was, "So your basically going as a sailor. That'll show everybody!".

What worries me is that all these so called winnable games have gone spectacularly tits up so far this season. I'd say a draw at home to Man City is more realistic than winning at Reading. As for QPR, I can see a massive shooting in own foot scenario. For details, see Bolton, last season.

Despite that, I can still see us in with a shout by the time the Wigan game comes round.
