Really any point in Adkins, we'd be hiring him on the exact same basis as Lambert ie. two successive promotions and a decent first spell in the PL, except Southampton don't look as good as Norwich did

if we went down and kept most of the squad together we would piss the championship probably with record points
but hopefully it wont happen

Not sure what you base that on considering we couldn't defeat a 4th division side over 2 legs, Villa go down and they will be down for a while.

oh come on, you know it was a historic one off thing,
if we played them every week without cameras we would beat them 9 times out of 10, we would be to strong for anyone in the championship

The 'performances' and league tables suggest that Villa are a very poor side and sadly getting knocked out by Bradford City isn't that much of a surprise. There is no way Villa would 'walk' any league, equally no way Benteke will still be a Villa player.

i still think we would be massive favourites,
even if a few left cant see why we wouldnt have a good enough squad to come back up, i think we would walk that league

but let me just say it would set the club back finacially and in no way do i think it would be a good thing for us,
i'm just saying if we did go down in my view we would be more than capable of  bouncing straight back, but obviously would be severly weakend by the experience

I have a mate who is an Owls fan and he told me that in the year 2000. He hasn't said it very often since.

Yep and nothing to suggest he would come (this side of relegation).

The fans wanted Lambert (flash in the pan craze for Solskjaer notwithstanding), and Lambert was appointed.  If Lambert is to be replaced perhaps the best thing Randy could do would be to ignore the fans?

You're right - like he did with TSM

all these calls for Poyet. Isn't he just today's Paul Lambert? This time last year under McTwat, we wanted Lambert. We got him. What's to say the next bloke we want doesn't end up the same?

It's not Lambert necessarily, it's the whole direction of the club. There's no use having anyone in charge while Lerner is doing what he's doing at boardroom level.

So he'll get it wrong either way then.  Or he could just keep the present guy and back him properly.

No that's very true, but Lambert's desperate lack of tactical awareness last night was all him and very alarming.

Frankly he just looks desperate, tired, at his wits' end and for all the world like he's just given up. He just chucked on strikers without even trying to weld them together. No plan, desperately just chucking players in and hoping for the best - sounds like the approach of the whole club at the moment.

You know what happened the last time he did that...

Someone wrote damned if we do damned if we don't

The point is it doesn't look like he is going anywhere and unlike others I don't think 'anyone else could do a better job' is necessarily the case - Wolves found that out last season so did Derby when they hired Jewell

There is no practical alternative for the rest of the season other than Adkins (and he wouldn't necessrily come and it would like hiring Lambert version 1.1) or RDM (not enthralled). They'd may want what they are being paid not to work by their previous clubs as compensation (if that was the severance agreement).

I don't see the point of sacking him and paying £2m more in compensation - though I compeltely understand the frustrations of many others saying we should.

Just don't agree with Anyone But Lambert Brigade.

That's an argument for never changing your manager.  If ever there is an argument for changing your manager it's now - in the season when relegation will cost you however many millions and leave you even further behind that you were already.
