If we go down we'll disappear like Sheff Wed or Leeds. No way will we do a West Ham or Newcastle.

if we went down and kept most of the squad together we would piss the championship probably with record points
but hopefully it wont happen

I hope so. I'm not as confident as that.

Alan Curbishley would improve this team and keep us up short term.

He's an option for midfield, dare say he's better than Ireland, Delph and Bannan.

Fuck me some of the opinions on here are shocking. No offence.

Lambert has to go. Lerner has backed him and he has his own team and he is failing with it. We are at the point of no return now with him unfortunately. I think he is a good manager and I'm gutted it hasn't worked out for him here but sadly PL and AVFC are not compatible.

So who to bring in. Zola? No. He was shit at West Ham. Lovely guy and a true legend/fans favourite but not capable of leading us.

RDM? No. Won the CL and it annoys when people say it was nothing to do with him but West Brom don't rate him so why should we.

Villa Legend? Let's not let nostalgia deepen our crisis. Big Ron would be a great advisor but he has been out the game too long . Southgate? Please, not a good manager. Laursen? Inexperienced.

The only choice for me is Adkins. Intelligent and footballers love him. He is an English Arsene Wenger for me. Plus he won't cost a penny and he'll wanna fuck Southampton over. He's hungry.

Not sure what you base that on considering we couldn't defeat a 4th division side over 2 legs, Villa go down and they will be down for a while.

If we go down we should band together like Swansea and take our club back from this nightmarish ownership.

What are the maths on that?

Value of club after relegation between 40,000 of us e.g.

60m / 40,000

1.5K each I'm In!

I only have £10.37

Well I did opt in a  bit too hastily myself... have to sell the "really good opportunity" to the wife!

Completely disagree - this lot would struggle in the Championship. They struggled against Div 4 Bradford, they struggled against Ipswich in cup (17th in Championship - Div 2 in old money) and will get beaten by Millwall on Friday.

Week in, week out the Championship is a slog - and half of our wankers wouldnt / couldnt put a shift in week in, week out.

We'd be dreadful in the Championship in my opinion. Only shot at promotion would be the play-offs if mid-table was tight.

'Even if'
It's still a fucking fantasy for that cretin Lerner isn't it?  To give you some comparison you 'might' understand, last night the Chicago Bears lost to a little league team from nowhere city Arkansas, get it?

Me. I'll do the job.

On Football Manager I'm 6th with Villa and have done it on a budget of £0.00

Sold most of the deadwood and have scouted Europe for talent.

£200.00 a week and I'm yours.

And somebody can have my season ticket, as long as they keep my client reff going.

I'm going home after work tonight to get on that game to make myslef feel better.  Still shellshocked and shaking.

After the experience of the last three managers we would be scraping the barrel when looking for our next manager. We really are good at turning decent managers into quivering wrecks - its a poisoned chalice

Yep, the club certainly will be looked upon as a basket case and poisoned chalice if we get rid of Lambert.  He's been in the job five minutes and has had to rebuild an entire defence and plug gaps in the squad on a very tight budget.  It's a very tough challenge and it will take time to sort out, I really think we have to dig in and show faith in the guy.  He left Norwich because he could see the huge potential in our club, let's give him the chance.
Totally agree with the above. Still feel bloody sick this morning though.

I know the board get a lot of stick and a lot of it rightly so (particularly with regards to their silence), however, they will not let Villa get relegated. It is NOT an option. They have made bad decisions in the past but they are not stupid enough to let the worst happen.

Something big WILL happen before the window closes be it a change of manager or an influx of money.

Keep the faith guys.

Fine if he's rock solid in his faith in Lambert that's his decision, but he has to back him financially in the transfer market. Now I have serious doubts after what happened when Bradford equalised yesterday, that was most inept tactical display ever. However if Lerner has faith he has to back him.
