i'm hoping Bradford do come and park the bus as others have said, because if they come and have a go they will probably get another one or two

if they go all defensive it will give us chance to build up some pressure without the risk of a counter attack

to be honest i think we will go 2 up at least by mid half way through the second half,
but then thats where our problems will start, holding on to it as they throw caution to the wind knowing one goal will be enough in the last few minuets will put us under enoumous pressure, and we arnt very good under pressure

i reckon its 50/50 as to who goes through on the night

I announced today to a room full of people that Villa would definitely get into the final. They all laughed.

Serves me right I suppose.

I think we'll turn it round. It's our league form  I really worry about.

If I knew how to fill in a betting slip I would have a bet on a Chelsea v Villa final. Probably a good job I don't.

99% of the shots Duke had to save were straight at him.

Exactly right. He had a decent, busy night but most of those saves were pretty standard stuff. Don Goodman however seemed to think he'd become Gordon Banks and Dino Zoff rolled into one.

I have to confess that i have flights bought for the final.
My favourite phrase at work is now " it's only half time". Of course we will do it.

Betfair have us at 2.08 and Bradford at 1.83 to qualify. Surely even we should be favourites to beat Bradford by 2 goals or more?

That's obviously not what the great British public think.

Mind you, the same great British public think England will win the world cup every time, hence the stupid prices there.

You can get evens on us to qualify.

3-1 is far from unretrievable, and we will at least be fired by the fact we lost in Bradford, but evens for a Premier League side, at home, to overturn a two goal deficit against a League Two side strikes me as pretty generous, even when the PL side is as unpredictable as we are.

I think some people are getting carried away. As others have said, we were in many ways utterly execrable on Tuesday, but we could also have quite easily won by several goals.

We will win by at least 4 clear goals and play Swansea in the final and we will win that 3-2 ;)

They were talking up Duke to absolutely ridiculous levels on Sky.

He made lots of saves, yes, because we put them under a bit of pressure, but he was hardly plucking them out of the air like Billy The Fish.

In fairness it's a good story anyway as he's beaten cancer. He's hardly a nobody as he played for Hull in the premier league just three years ago including a 3-0 defeat at VP....so it was him that conceded the imfamous Sidwell throw in Milner goal.

Actually thinking of keepers, I'd leave a sub if it looks like going to penalties and bring Guzan on as I don't have confidence Given would get near any of the Bradford penalties seeing as they're pretty good at them.

Yeah it's going to be a strange night. For example we could be 4-1 up either at the end of  extra time and in most cases that would be very comfortable but it would be the equivilant of hanging onto a 1 nil lead as one more goal for Bradford would take them to Wembley.

We're 7/2 3rd favourites to lift the cup. Swansea now favourites.

Well with everybody jumping on us from a great height I decide to take the Ron Saunders stance bravely and stubbonly announcing to anyone who showed any sign of taking the piss

'Do you want to bet against us'

Not one taker so despite the scoreline the majority still think we will get through
