Just watched the highlights on AVTV and on another night we would have been out of sight after about 25 minutes.

Bradford could easily have scored five though.

5..really ?

3 corners (avoidable if not defended properly)...and one effort from open play that hit the bar is my only recollection of Bradford's chances....it says it all that the Bradford goalkeeper was man of the match.

we did not defend well at all, but I could not see them scoring until that corner for the first goal fell perfectly to the lad who smashed it in brilliantly.

One cleared off the line and a couple of good chances headed wide - yes they could easily have scored a couple more.

don't remember the one off the line and did we not have one off the line ?

and their headed chances were not even as good as our missed headed chances.

an early goal for the Villa would of killed them, had it come in my opinion.

Think theirs off the line was from a corner in the 1st half  , make no mistake we could also easily have had 5 , benteke and bent both missed sitters, and gabby should have buried his chance too, yes their keeper made saves but really he shouldn't have been able to get near saving from those chances - I agree if we had scored early on we could have won by a few.

I was amazed how open the game was for a semi, but I think they will try and shut up shop down here.

I hope Lambert looks and learns.

With a two goal advantage, they'll rightly look to park the proverbial bus and  get 10 men behind the ball.

We've not looked like we can break teams down this season as our build up is often too slow and predictable. I'd think they'll look to have break aways like on Tuesday and defend pretty deep.

We need an early goal and that could change everything about both sides approach, but the longer we go without a goal or if we leak another it'll be curtains.

What odds before Tuesday on a Bradford v Swansea final???

I think given the lack of a DM Lambert decided to go all out attack ....maybe if we had scored early that would of worked as they were very vunrable on the counter

Yes, 5. Duke had a good game but can't remember him making many saves that he wouldn't have been expected to, granted if Benteke hadn't been wearing Heskey's boots or head Villa would have scored a few themselves but this is a 4th division team we were playing.

They were talking up Duke to absolutely ridiculous levels on Sky.

He made lots of saves, yes, because we put them under a bit of pressure, but he was hardly plucking them out of the air like Billy The Fish.

Watching the game back, I actually thought we were quite good we just missed two vital components: A midfielder who could make tackles; and luck.

I don't quite understand the hate for N'Zogbia on here either, sure he perhaps should've passed the ball a bit more but he drove our entire team forward and looked like the most dangerous man on the pitch by a mile.

A couple of those saves he made could have bounced anywhere but they were scrambled away. However abysmal we were - and just how bad the team played can't be exaggerated - with a bit of luck we could easily have won by three goals.

We have missed a midfielder who could tackle all season to be honest. If we score early in the 2nd leg we can still go through

99% of the shots Duke had to save were straight at him.

Tuesday night was Duke's game of his life.  Let's make the return leg his biggest nightmare.

Betfair have us at 2.08 and Bradford at 1.83 to qualify. Surely even we should be favourites to beat Bradford by 2 goals or more?
