F.A Cup 4th Round - Millwall away

Every tracksuit wearing chav will be going to Millwall for this game to have a pop at the Villa. If they give us the whole end, upper and lower tiers then the police will have to be very alert to prevent trouble.

Can't say I am looking forward to it but I'll be there with my bro. As others have said, no colours and keep your voice down and you'll be fine. The coppers down there have it sewn up these days so it should be fine.

Villa, dare I say it, are not much of a draw for the Millwall hooligan element.

Having said that, the worst trouble I remember near the New Den was when Forest played there.

When i woke up this morning and saw the thread about the draw i wanted any club closest to Kent. Fuck me!!

The difference with the old Den was that there was no segregation. That area behind the goal may have got a bit more secure towards the end but anyone thinking they could escape the bedlam in the seats could easily get a rude awakening.
The younger ones amongst us, especially, would be advised to think carefully how they go to this game. Going by car, for example, might be a bit dodgy, especially after the game. Such people will stick out like a sore thumb as they emerge from our end while all the coach / train people are being looked after.
I haven't been to the new ground as the first team haven't played there (unless they sneaked in a friendly sometime) so haven't had first hand experience of the new security measures such as the walkway etc. The very thought of the fixture brings back memories of a particularly horrible place where we had the misfortune to go several times.

Your correct been to the old Millwall, drink outside the area,keep quiet and you should be fine.

I have been to the New Den by car on more than one occassion. You do have to walk out of a cul-de-sac under the railway bridge, but the police are always over the top out in force etc that you barely see anything but a few chavs doing their best to look moody.

Its a rough area, so your biggest concern by car is where to park without it getting nicked.

If we were West Ham or Leeds, you may have a point.

Football is sanitized everywhere these days and while going to the New Den isn't quite the wet wipe exprience of Stamford Bridge, its still a million miles away from the Old Den.

Amusing to see the same people getting themselves in a tizz as they did after the 3rd round draw when Leeds and Small Heath drew each other, despite the fact that they play one another twice a season anyway, Leeds struggle to get 10k through the doors for Cup games against unfashionable opposition, and SHA rarely take more than 1000 fans there every season. Indeed, I believe they took less than 800 yesterday.

Onto Millwall. 4000 Villa fans, a covered and well-policed walkway from the station to the away end, a stand-alone end that doesn't need to be shared with Millwall fans, and the opportunity to drink wherever you like in central London. Much ado about nothing and the collective bed-wetting is just.....bizarre.

Link below is from the scum game there last year. Gives a bit of an idea what its like. Once you leave London Bridge on the train, you probably won't even come close to a Millwall fan there and back. Straight off the platform, through the gates, along the covered walkway, straight to the turnstiles. At no time are you out in the streets around the ground. Certainty to be kept in after for a while though.
