A floodlight has failed at Canterbury - not sure what will happen but if too dark to carry on Bears are ahead on D/L - Kent are 113-4 (24.3) but need to be on 122.

Be a strange way to win but we'll take it. At moment everyone just waiting to see what will happen.....

Happy that they should be on 122. It means the Duckworth-Lewis app I just downloaded seems to work properly!

'Win be default' possibly the best three words in the English language.

Anyone fancy Monty for the Bears? He's being released early from his Sussex contract and although Jeetan Patel has been good for us I think we need to recruit a decent overseas batsman to shore up our fragile batting line up so Monty would be a decent replacement if he sorts his personal problems out.

Desperately bad against the pears tonight. They can't take their cider.

Think he has gone to essex

Not many positives about the Bears tonight, oh dear.

Stefan Piolet has today joined Sussex on loan till the end of the season...play 3 x YB40 games and 3 Championship games but can't play against us in CC.
Today currently Somerset are 40-1
Trescothick 27
Jones 4
Compton LBW Barker 6
Somerset won toss
Bears side: Chopra,Westwood, Javid, Evans, Maddy, Clarke, Ambrose, Barker, Milnes, Patel, and Gordon.
So i assume Porterfield dropped and Troughton not fit. Woakes away with England - can he come and play tomorrow if left out by England. I assume Rankin stopped by England as in T20 squad???

Woakes has indeed been nominated by Bears to play if not selected by England.

Ricardo Gordon just bowled his first ball in Championship cricket!!!!
