Being as the date this coming Saturday is 15th December; older fans will remember 15th December, 1976 when we trounced the 'Pool 5-1 at Villa Park! If the omens are correct, it'll be 1-5 to us! However, realistically, I reckon a hard-fought draw 1-1. But, you never know!!

Probably the best first half of football played at VP.

4-0 up after about 20mins and Keegan booked for dissent!......mmmm marvellous!

I really fancy us to get a result on Saturday.
I expect we can get at least a draw but hope we can nick a win.

1-2 Villa

The 77 away win at anfield (2-1 Gray x 2) is still I think the game that made me fall in love with the club. I remember sitting watching MOTD as a kid with my mom, mesmerised that we'd won there and then I had that beautiful kit for Xmas and didn't take it off until about July.

I think that was their first home defeat for about 2 years.

We come of age and convert our LC form to the PL. Villa win 4-1 with a Benteke hat trick and Gerard being sent off. We move clear of the relegation zone and there is talk of a late charge into Europe.

Then I wake up.

remember it well. The 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' coach went past our car on the motorway and we looked at Ray Clemence and my Dad said' Hes going to have a back ache picking that ball out the net tonight '

So Tom Daley is playing for them ?      Good horrible player thou , shame he wasnt banned for this.

I remember we sneaked a win up there in recent years but I think they are looking better .  1-1     Benteke and Daley for them.

Back to earth with a bump.  We'll be drawing, their star left back Downing will up-end Benteke in their area, Gerrard will tell the ref that the foul was actually on Suarez at the other end of the pitch, they score from the resultant penalty to go 2-1 up, Gerrard tells the ref there's no point playing the last 10 minutes so the penalty turns out to be the last kick of the game.

I went to that game. Liverpool were virtually unbeatable at home at that time.
It was great to see their mighty Kop reduced to silence.

We have capitualted against Liverpool on many an occasion. It is surely payback time. They haven't got the nastiness of earlier Liverpool sides. Nobody messes with Benteke.

Lowton Westwood Bannan Lichaj

Benteke

Me too with possibly Delph in for Bannan based on Tuesday's form.

And, Gabby on the bench poised like a coiled spring when Weimann may tire in the last 20 mins.

I think we'll struggle as the shackles are put back on. 2 or 3-0 Liverpool.

i also went to that game as a 15 year old,
got absolutely battered outside the ground, my mate had his nose broken and was chased all over the place trying to get back to Lime street

Still think Bannan's a better bet than Delph at the moment, and he and Westwood have a real axis going at the moment.

I also don't quite think Zog has done enough to displace Holman, who was awesome on Tuesday, but it's good to see him rediscovering a bit of spark. In fact, I think he'd be the ideal impact sub once Holman customarily runs himself into the ground around 65 minutes, he could really cause problems with a bit more space to play in. Weimann or Gabby depends completely on Andy's fitness level right now, but on form it's definitely him.
