1-2 villa win

                            Guzan

            Vlaar.        Baker.      Clark

 Lowton.   Westwood. Bannan. Holman.    Bennett

                  Weimann.   Benteke

Delph for Bannan purely for the shift he put in last night!

Liverpool to win 2-1 with Downing getting stretchered off and straight down the tunnel to hospital with a broken nail.

Well according to some of their forums we will get battered. We are the worst team on the planet, have no idea how to play, are shaky at the back, useless without Bent, we'll just park the bus, we will get relegated, they should be hammering us out of sight and they haven't heard of most of our players.

Norwich result doesn't count, they just basically gave up when we scored the second. Our recent run against Sunderland, QPR, Stoke, Reading and Arsenal mean squat, all these teams are only marginally better than us.

I really hope they get a rude awakening...since when did redscouse become half decent again, or have I missed something?

I like that team, could work.

That's the team I was thinking of, with the possible exception of delph for bannan.

But worth thinking about liverpool's full backs, who are very attacking. Our best approach might e to play wide players up against them. For example gabby or nzogbia against Johnson; weimann or Holman against Enrique (or downing?!)

I think that would mean reverting to 4231 though so it possibly depends whether Vlaar is fit.

A comfortable 1-3 away win. Leighton Phillips to open the scoring, a free kick from Tommy Craig and a late goal from Terry Donovan.

Liverpool 1 Villa 2.
Goals either side of half time from Bannan and Westwood put Villa in control. Nick Griffin scores for them on his debut, but we hold on for 3 points.

Yeah obviously Clark in the middle of the three. I'd still pick Vlaar ahead of herd if fit

I do have a strange sense of confidence about this one. That normally a bad thing with villa

Yes sorry,Clark In the middle and baker on the left of the 3 - regarding Delph , I wasn't at the game last night but people seem to have been hugely impressed by him, I think it would be a tad harsh on bannan to be left out but i wouldn't mind Delph having a go in that role judging by what people have said about last night.

It's nice that we have options and people seem to be stepping up to the plate. The return of nzogbia is also very good news.
